Is there any one else among the the April filers that is from the San Antonio area? I am really getting concerned now because from what I see, generally, most people dont stay on the "Response to RFE review" status for long.Mine has been on that spot for 5 weeks now and still at the NBC.

I'm 99% sure that whatever the FBI does takes less than 5 minutes. It's all in huge computer databases

and I don't see how it would take longer.

I sent my application in late April, did my biometrics 3 days after I got the notice in early May, well ahead of time, and jus got my interview

notice a few days ago. From my experience, it makes no difference.

Shooli, Are you going to LA downtown office?

I agree with you, Shooli. I sent my application early April - received April 6!! I did my biometrics on my appointment day on May 15. I just got an RFE from the NBC in Missouri!! So I'm wrong about the biometrics. Sorry!

It breaks my heart that it's taken so long for you and that you've been through so much. And still waiting. I can only wish you the best of luck and hope for you that things start moving really fast for you.

I hope you don't let the "illegals" get to you too much. If it makes you feel better, all they can apply for is EAD which will expire in 2 years. They're not even getting status, let alone ANY way to adjust to legal status, even down the line. It's really not any package at all, you are already better off than they will ever be.

Hope that makes you feel better at all :/

Anne I feel your pain. It's funny, even though Jon has his green card now I was about to write my own rant yesterday when I heard about the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants lining up for EAD applications. Really got my blood boiling. What's frustrating is that now that EADs are given to legal and illegal immigrants I think it will hurt those that are here legally looking for a job. Considering employers already get a little suspicious when they see a job applicant is from another country, now even if they have an EAD they may wonder if you are here illegally. It makes me wonder if we should just put "I HAVE A GREEN CARD" in bold red letters on the top of his resume :)

Ibee you're right though even if they have the EAD they can't apply for legal status so it makes you wonder what the point of the program is since there's really no long term solution. Oh right, campaign season!

LOL at the green card in bold letters comment! The way things are going job search-wise for me, I may be desperate enough to do that pretty soon! I personally don't mind competition tough. It's one of the main reasons why I love this country so much. Give the best a chance to be the best :)

I like to stay positive and think this is the point of the program: http://abcnews.go.co...54#.UC58MallQQ4

I stayed up almost all night on Tuesday helping a brilliant straight A engineering student apply for EAD (a much deserved one in this case) so that the student can build on the skills and knowledge in an internship. It's been A DREAM for the past few years to just be allowed to get an internship and put some money towards a Master's Degree. For me, those few good people, make it worth it :)

Ibee and Kay&Jon - thanks for setting me straight about The Dreamers!!! Trying to answer my RFE asap... I'd like to have an answer before Christmas... perhaps even Thanksgiving, if that's not too optimistic!!!

Joshua P - I hope your interview goes well! I feel your pain about the interview time - I'm dreading an early interview, as that would mean we'd have to get a hotel overnight near the field office just to make it in time. On the other hand, we could then go spend the day at Disney to either celebrate (again, Mrs Optimistic is raising her Gorgeous Head).

I don’t understand why people are upset about the dreamers. And I’m even more at a loss as to where you came up with the month timeline. This is a new thing for USCIS so who knows how long it’ll take. And I think a lot of those “illegals” feel like US Citizens too, considering most of them were brought here when they were children. And like someone else said, you are in a much better situation anyway.

I wish USCIS had premium processing for AOS!

And I agree with Shooli. The FBI probably gets the background check done in 5 minutes. So it’s all up to the NBC.

The fact that it’s been transferred says a lot. At least your file is not gathering dust at the NBC.
