Hey guys, got RFE'd at interview but was able to resolve it in an hour and got the approval then on the spot. Wrecked tired from the 6 hour drive(twice in 24 hours!) but will post interview experience in a day or so!

All is well that ends well. Congratulations. I hope you didn't sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall for 6 hours. Lol. Enjoy being green!

I'm on the phone with them right now, asked about my fingerprints, agent said he can't answer that but he'll escalate it to the next level.

My rfe was sent to me on May 8th and they received my response on May 18..After 60 days I felt I had enough blind waiting. So i simply called hoping that the mere act of calling would wake up the person snoozing on my case.

Thank you.. I guess ill just wait and try calling them after 60 days. Thank you!!!

(3) Certified copies of certified documents that you have only previously given in a photocopied form to USCIS (birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.)

I wanted to ask something here.

Knowing what has happened in my case, do you think I should contact my Congressional representatives at this point? I mean, I figure it can't hurt, but at the same time it's only been a couple of weeks since the interview. Granted, I have no idea of what timetable I am looking at here (weeks / months?) and I do not wish to take Congressional resources away from cases more important and deserving of intervention than my own.

Just something playing on my mind.

If I were in your situation, I probably would. It is not as if you are bothering them with unimportant things... you have waited so long and been through so much, just for the sake of your children, I don't think it would hurt. The worst that can happen is no response but at least you tried? And if it gives you a slight peace of mind in the mean time... I don't see why not.

I absolutely agree. You've been very rational and reasonable up to this point. The delays have nothing to do you, yet you have a lot at stake here. Every day they deliberate means less time handling your business. Like you said, the worst you could get is no response, however any response could lead to a quicker action on approving your residency. Let your congressman work for you.

I contacted my representative in the House, Congressman Mac Thornberry and Senator John Cornyn this morning. They have forms on their websites that you fill in detailing your issue and you can then fax those to their offices, which I did. I did not contact the office of Texas' other Senator, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, since I have read multiple examples on these forums of how...unhelpful her office had been in other cases, or just flat out non-responsive.

I already received a response from a staffer at Congressman Thornberry's office acknowledging my request for assistance. He said they have filed an information request with USCIS through their Congressional channels and will let me know what comes up. I believe federal agencies have 48 working hours to respond to these types of requests and so I am hopeful of hearing something next week.
