Hi Guys, sorry took me so long but I was celebrating with my wife for two days... ;-) (Was her birthday too).

I was approved on the spot, the lady handling my case was very nice, we never felt any nervous or nothing, we were talking about the weather and the basketball teams from NBA...

She asked me like three of the questions from the i-485 form and before that, she asked my wife for her name, address and place of birth as well as me. Other than that, she was watching all our wedding pictures and asking for my family and her family that all were on the pics...

The interview was around 20 minutes but those were all the questions that we got, she wrote several things on the package with red pen but all were "ok" and/or check marks... She explained about the 2 years condition and told me to wait for her email with her decision (approval... Before that she said that she have all that she needs).

My lawyer confirmed that the Dallas office received her letter this morning telling them that they should have jurisdiction to adjudicate my I-360 without needing to send it to Vermont.

I am hoping to hear some positive news next week.

And congratulations Gilbermon.

Thanks for all the kind words.

I am really hoping the Dallas office doesn't dig in and insist on sending my case to Vermont, because that place is a black hole for I-360s right now and I would be lucky to receive a decision before the end of the year or perhaps not even then.

Ideally the Dallas office will confirm with their superiors that they have authority here, approve my I-360 and then approve my I-485 and I get my green card in the mail in the next couple of weeks. That is my preferred solution, but there are no guarantees here.

Does the EAD have an expiration date? Will you be in trouble if they take a year to process it?

EADs based on a pending AoS are only valid for one year; mine is valid from 6/29/12 until 6/28/13 and I believe it can be renewed.

It wouldn't be a major hassle to have to wait it out until Vermont got around to adjudicating it, I just mean I am ready for the whole process to be over, especially when I see everyone else here being approved.

I also have some matters regarding my stepson and wife's estate that would be much easier to resolve with a green card than without one.

I am keeping my fingers crossed to hear something good from Dallas next week.

This is really the only place I can vent about it (and it helps!)

I obviously can't talk to my children about it (the oldest is not even a teenager yet) and while my father-in-law lives here we are not that close. Basically my wife was my world and losing her almost crushed me.

But yeah, I'm trying to keep happy thoughts going for next week.

Good luck! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Dallas people to just get it over with. Let us know when you hear from them.

While I'm here, I may as well tell you that my case still hasn't been updated since our interview. After this whole online notification system totally bugging on me for the entire process, I'm not surprised and expecting the card to arrive without the online status changing. But I'll let you know either way.

2012

Apr. 4 - Filed AOS package
Apr. 6 - 4 NOAs
Apr. 18 - Biometrics appointment notice for May 14.
Apr. 24 - online status changed to Request for Initial Evidence (pesky tax transcripts)
Apr. 28 - RFE notice arrived in the mail
Apr. 30 - Responded to RFE
May 3 - Online status changed to "Request for Evidence Response Review"
May 9 - Successful early walk-in biometrics in Milwaukee
June 5 - Online status changed to "Testing and Interview" - Interview date: July 11. Online interview location: NBC
June 6 - EAD/AP card in production; NOA 2 in the mail. Interview location: local office
June 12 - EAD/AP picked up by USPS
June 14 - EAD/AP in the mail
June 15 - applied for a SSN
June 22 - got SSN
July 11 - Interview - approved on the spot!
August 8 - online status changes to approval. GC should arrive in "up to 60 days". Yah, we're out of plastic in Wisco.

2014

June 3 - filed for ROC

June 25 - NOA1

Sometime mid July - the letter for biometrics came in, while I was abroad; I pushed the date back to August

Sometime in August - biometrics on the right day, didn't go for early
