Hi Guys,

Approved on the spot. I'll write a detailed overview of it for everyone later on. We have a really nice IO and she said that our case was straight forward. Am waiting for the email and text from USCIS now. We had a minor issue in that she told us that you cannot travel on either my H1B visa or EAD / AP in the meantime and I am flying to the UK next Thursday. They told us to try and get an Infopass for the meantime, but I needed to schedule an interview and the earliest was after I had left. I am not too concerned as someone can always FedEx the card over to me as I only need to reenter using it. Interestingly, if I had tried to reenter using the EAD / AP (as planned) the IO told me that this would cancel the Greencard. No big dramas, we are very happy.

I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for all of their insights, help and experiences. These made it really easy to turn up and take provide all of the correct information. We were asked for my wife's birth certificate, proof of our relationship (we had a joint card), some photos (she kept 2 or 3) and that was basically it. She reconfirmed all of my information and asked me all of the questions again which I had answered no to e.g. are you a terrorist.

All done in 10-15 mins.

Congratulations on your approval.

I personally would not be leaving the United States until the green card was in my hands now that you cannot use your AP to re-enter. Perhaps your green card gets lost in the mail (it happened recently to someone here), perhaps it has the wrong information on it, etc.

That is true. I am fairly relaxed as I have friends and my wife flying to see me a week later. Fingers crossed that the card comes within 2 weeks (The IO said that it would). If not, I'll have an extended trip in the UK

Hi Guys, sorry took me so long but I was celebrating with my wife for two days... ;-) (Was her birthday too).

I was approved on the spot, the lady handling my case was very nice, we never felt any nervous or nothing, we were talking about the weather and the basketball teams from NBA...

She asked me like three of the questions from the i-485 form and before that she asked my wife for her name, address and place of born as well as me. Other than that, she was watching all our wedding pictures and asking for my family and her family that all were on the pics...

The interview was around 20 minutes but those were all the questions that we got she wrote several things on the package with red pen but all were ok and check marks... She explained me about the 2 years condition and told me to wait for her email with her decision (approval... Before that she said that she have all that she needs).
