in less than 24 hours u will know.

fortunately my parents came over and lived with us for a month and so did hers (at different times) so we know each others family pretty well and as far as any relationship question goes we are both well prepared.

Cool. Sounds like you'll be just fine. Separated or not - I wouldn't be too worried. I'm sure the IO will see that you're in a real relationship. Have plenty of evidence available and there should be no problems.

Congrats

Thanks! Glad you got approved on the spot as well :) It's a good feeling. Now I can't wait for my wife to get her Green Card in the mail.

why you don't book an info pass and try to go there with your lawyer, and maybe they can check with headquarter and approve you.. because if they gonna send ur file to vermont , it's gonna take longer time...

My lawyer is in Nebraska, she does all of her work from distance.

After I emailed her all of that information today she said she called the USCIS national number as well. They would not admit that the Dallas office made a mistake, and said that even though some local offices may choose to adjudicate I-360 widow/er petitions that does mean all of them do (although Dallas may, since they couldn't give her any specific information).

My lawyer said she isn't buying it, and is sending the Dallas office a letter via priority mail today seeking a definitive answer from someone higher-up as to who holds jurisdiction over my I-360. As you said, I do not want it being transferred to Vermont if it does not have to be, especially since Vermont is very backed up for I-360s right now (mostly due to VAWA).

I still think the Dallas office screwed up. Hopefully I will know more next week. It's times like these that I do not regret having hired a lawyer to help me navigate issues such as this, especially in a non-standard case.

Timeline

We were approved right there. We received our paper notice about removal. I will write more later. Got 8 hours back to our city. Thank u all aos filer board. Good luck to everyone and congratulations to all those approved.

As promised I am now writing our story.

Monday, July 09, 2012: I get off work at 4.30pm and go to my parents house where my husband is waiting. We are grabbing everything in sight so we can leave for Memphis. We left around 5.45-6pm heading for Memphis from Tri-Cities, TN.

Tuesday, July 10, 2012: After midnight on the central standard time, we arrive. It was an 8.5 hour trip. OMG! I'm so tired. We are both so tired.

We awake at 8.45am CST-good thing though. After showering and praying and we are getting our documents together, we realize we forgot our photo album and scrapbook. *LOOK OF SHOCK!* Also, we forgot our immigration appointment letter. Luckily, I scan and email every piece of USCIS to my email account. We drove around looking for a Kinkos. Since we are in the Kinkos/FedEx capital of the United States, we found one. We got our appointment letter printed, so we are okay. We finish at Kinkos around 11.30am CST. We still have time to spare since our appointment wasn't until 01.30pm CST.

12noon- We are eatting at Waffle House, relaxing and enjoying each other like we always do.

12.45pm CST- We leave Waffle House, and push in the directions on the GPS, and realize we were 10minutes away. So, we just spent some time riding around. Stop at some little local international stores to look around.

01.05pm- We leave the international store and head over to the USCIS Memphis Center. On the outisde, the USCIS building looked like a prison so to speak. With the rain, it looked so depressing, but ironically we felt relaxed.

01.15pm- We are inside, the secruity people were nice. They told us to put everything in the basket which we did, and once scanned he will tell us what was next. Basically which was after the scan get your stuff, and go to room 121 and wait.

01:15-1.30pm- We set in the waiting area. I remember my husband saying, I heard if we get a man, it's not good news. We want the lady. After which we spoke about Alexander Hamilton the first treasure of the United states. And then we heard this man call our name. The name was not prounoced correctly but we knew it was us.

01.30-1.40pm- When we went back there, he asked us to swear to tell the truth. We agreed, and then he told us his name. He asked us to sit down, and we did. He asked: 1.) What is your name?(to my husband) 2.) He asked him to name his parents?(to my husband) 3.) Asked us our address? (which we named, but since we moved 2 weeks ago we gave him the new address) 4.) he asked us to name the people in our apartment? 5.) asked us what is my son's name? 6.) did we have a civil marriage or islamic marriage? (which we had both, but he said that now in the state of TN, they reconsider islamic marriage as a proper civil marriage) 7.) did we have a photo album? (which we forgot, but he said, it was fine.) 8.) asked to see our bills?(which we showed him along with our bank statments, employement letter and check stubs) 9.) asked did i speak Arabic? (which I speak little of) 10.) how did we meet?(which we said mawada.net) 11.) does your ex-husband pay child support?(me, not consistantly) 12.) Your ex-husband has his greencard? (I assume so, we do not talk.) 13.) Your ex husband is Mauritanian, correct? So are you muslim?(Yes, my ex husband is Mauritanian. Yes, I am muslim since May 24, 1999.) 14.) Do you talk to your husband's family? (Yes, i do, but not alot, we speak different dialects of Arabic)

Then his next words was: Everytime I've seen a photo of you (my husband), you looked completly different. So, having said that.. I am going to approve this case. Congratulations! Okay, here is your approval letter. You will get your greencard within 30 days to the address we have on file. You need to go online and change your address. Also, here is your information concerning your removal of conditions. We will not send another notice. This is your only notice. You may have to come back in for another interview or receive an RFE alongside the removal of conditions. We said thank you.

Officer said to my husband SA:it seems that KSA did not get involve too much in the Arab Spring, eh? My husband, no it did not. Do you think it will come to KSA? My husband says: I don't know. I wasn't there when it broke out.

The officer said: It was nice meeting you both. Have a good 8.5 hour drive back to the Tri-Cities. Working today. I am so tired.

So, we drove 16.5 hours total for a 10minute interview. Alhamdulillah it ended in approval.

We are too, I was not looking forward to the possibility of moving to KSA so soon. *hehe!* Just relax and make sure you have at least the minimum they ask for. Keep the answers short and sweet, do not go on and on unless asked. because in my opinion, that's a sweet way to see if they can trip you up.

We were not happy about the 8.5hours one way but we did it. I will try to keep in touch until July 23rd. I doubt I will be able too after July 23. I was diagnosed with leukemia cancer on June 25, 2012 and I had surgery on July 03, 2012. So I will start chemo treatments on July 23, 2012 so I will try to keep working and with the chemo so I won't be able to be online much after that due to fatigue.

So for those who have an interview after July 23rd, I wish you all the best and good luck to you all and again congratulations to those approved and whom will be approved. See you guys on the April 2012 AOS Filers-Removal of Conditions Forum in a few months God Willing.

I was in a similar situation, although I sent the rfe papers back the very next working day. You can see my timeline, they got back to me about a month after they got my papers. You delay their reply a little more when you don't reply immediately, but I'm sure you're almost there! Don't freak out, I know it's hard and you feel like they've lost your case, but you'll be fine! It will come! Very soon.
