I have a question to ask. Sorry... but I do notice EAD/AP production notification in the signatures of the timeline. Is the EAD/AP production meaning they received their card, or is that saying that the EAD/AP is coming along with the interview date?

The last letter I received it stated that everything should be completed within 60 days. I'm wondering, it's very possible my husband would receive his greencard(provide we pass the interview) before he receives his EAD. Is that possible or what?

I know the guard told him yesterday, Good luck with the process. Hopefully, your card could be in the mail before July. And then he laughed and said some people have received their GC in the mail before their EAD. I thought that was strange since they ask you to bring everything with you to the interview( I guess provided that you pass) you have to turn in your EAD.

I don't know. I guess the game of wait and see is finally upon us.

AOS interviews were used to take a long time before they scheduled them. but now the interviews come very fast , that's why sometime people get their EAD just before the interview or even sometime they come on the mail with the GC. so it all depends about when ur interview is

and I think , from ur timeline, you will receive ur interview appt within a week or so

It's been known to happen that you receive your GC before your EAD. In this case you would just destroy the EAD as soon as it arrived since it would no longer be required.

Hi guys-

I've been following you silently but I've finally decided to pitch in :). I am SO stressed out. My attorney sent my application on April 20th and my received date was April 24th. But he sent the wrong check with the application and, long story short, the check bounced and I had to submit a new payment. I just called USCIS and they told me that the interview is scheduled from the time they accept the application so this means that my new acceptance date is May 14th! That's almost a month later! :(. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Our interview date is on the "magical" June 26 as well (in Oakland, South FL)... However, I'd much rather know that my EAD/AP are being processed... I plan on traveling back home July 8  Does anybody know how long it takes after the interview to get your card/travel papers (provided you pass the interview, but I don't see why we wouldn't).

Also, does anybody have any information on military-related expedites (overseas orders) or how to go about if my husband won't be able to come to the interview (the Army won't let him leave during the week, and we live in separate states)

Any input would be greatly appreciated :) And congrats to everyone else who has a date already - it's moving surprisingly fast

Latest interview list for the Aprilers:

Aimee K - 13th June (Baltimore, MD)

chimcham - 25th June (Hartford, CT)

Daeras - 26th June (Philadelphia, PA)

myafi1985 - 26th June (Washington, DC)

DC2011 - 26th June (Washington, DC)

mycdngrl - 26th June (Denver, CO)

lupa222 - 26th June (Oakland Park, FL)

With regards to travelling abroad, I would not make any firm plans (i.e. book the flights) until you have either AP (on your EAD) or GC in your hand. By July it's highly likely you will have an EAD by then, and heck maybe a GC if your case is approved on the day or shortly after. It usually takes only a few days to receive a GC once it is approved, usually less than a week from the time you receive the "Card Production Ordered" notification, and usually closer to 4-5 days.

As for your spouse not being able to be at the interview, that is an issue. Usually for people adjusting based on marriage, both the foreign national and the USC have to appear. I assume there is some kind of exemption for active military personnel, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Perhaps call the USCIS helpline and see what they say?

(Edit) According to http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/111988-us-military-spouses/page__st__585 you will need a copy of his military orders indicating that he cannot be present at the interview due to being deployed on active military service.

sorry to hear that. the interview is scheduled after they make sure that your package is complete, and it depends about the available interview spots @ your local office. I know the waiting is very hard, but remember we all on the same boat.

If I were I would be partying lol... don't worry since you gonna be the only one who is gonna talk about the relation you should be fine , and stress free. especially when you have a deployed husband, they respect this issue a lot, I read a couple of interviews for people who have a situation like u, and they got approved on the spot. in such a case, you can ask the interviewer for a stamp on your passport I551 [ temporary GC], don't forget to have your itinerary with you. and best of luck

It used to be that when a GC interview was approved they would immediately put an I-551 stamp in your passport. It serves as temporary evidence of a green card until the real thing arrives in the mail.

These days they do not do automatic stamps in the passport because the GC comes quite quickly once they approve you. You can request an I-551 stamp following a successful interview, but you will probably have to make an Infopass to get it.

In all likelihood you will have your GC in your hands by July anyway, and won't need to worry about AP or getting an I-551 stamp.
