I guess once you're done with Biometrics and a few weeks have passed, all you can do is wait for the Interview appointment letter.

Right now for those of us that have completed biometrics they are working on processing our background checks to make sure none of us are mass murderers or serial bank robbers.

In a few weeks time we'll get a notification stating that our case has been transferred to our local district office, and shortly after that should receive an interview appointment. I wonder if anyone here will get an interview notice before the end of the month?

I sure do hope so - I have a trip to Europe planned for late July/early August, and I want to be done with the whole thing

by then!

Hey all, just got a text msg telling me my 485 had been updated. I checked the site and we have an interview scheduled! It's june 13th, so not long to wait. I have a couple of questions:

1. Would it be too premature to book a honeymoon for July 5th? We should get our AP document some time soon, and if they make a decision at the interview we should be able to get a stamp in the passport to prove my conditional residency, at least, that's my reasoning.

2. My original biometrics date was May 7th, this past Monday. Four days after my appt date I have received an interview date, with the FBI taking approx two weeks to process fingerprints, is this proof that early walk-ins help speed up your case?

Wow, 39 days from application to interview is crazy fast. Who would have thought government bureaucracy could move so swiftly when they wanted to?

Which office will you be interviewing at?

It's my belief that early walk-in biometrics does speed up your case, based on anecdotal evidence from a lot of people who have posted here. At the very least it cannot hurt your case, which is all the reason I needed to go ahead and do it.

1) I wouldn't book anything in advance until you are either have the I-551 stamp in your passport, AP in hand or GC in hand. It just isn't worth being disappointed and being out airfare and hotel costs or paying additional to transfer the date.

2) Looking at a limited base of imperial data, namely the Feb/March filers spread sheet-- there is no evidence to support that early biometrics walk-ins speed up the case, if you take a look it, some people with early walk-ins waited beyond the overall average time for receiving approval of EAD. Of course, this data is only over a two month period and there really is no long-term statistics to show the average wait-time over the course of a year or two and the affect that an early appointment has--- but IMHO-- early walk ins do not make a difference for the majority since there are more factors at play such as the backlog at an applicants ASC for an appointment and the backlog at their local UCIS Field Office for an interview date.

You will also note that interview dates are all over the board too.

However, congrats on such an early interview date and quick timeline--- you are just one day after me

regarding your question, the early walkin for the fingerprint , the more time they have for the FBI to check your background , as result if the no record received from the FBI, the officer can approve you right away or the second day.

Hi all. I got my RFE today and as anticipated, it was for my USC husbands tax returns for 2011.(he filed for an extension for 2011 taxes). I was also for proof of my employment authorization (Hib,visa, 1-94 stating H1b in order to count toward household total.

Here is the wording.

1. submit petitioners complete tax return for the current tax year or an explanation/evidence why he is exempt.

2. For the household member's income (myself IO) to be included, it must be from a lawful source and earned while the household member was authorized to work in the USA. Please submit a copy of the form I-94, showing the nonimmigrant class, (H1b, etc, a copy of a valid EAD, or an I 94 stating (work authorized".

My husband is an attorney and he writes off all expenses such that his income reflects below the poverty level. Thus, I used my income to qualify as a houshold member. With my application, I mailed my i94 entering as H1b, my H1b visa, three years tax returns and w2's, and an employment letter from my job stating that I am fully employed and my job awaits me pending the outcome of this. Is this not what they are asking for now? also my Hib expired the day I mailed out my application (04/19/2012). Yet still they only request documentation that my prior work was authorized. Should I just resend everything I sent already, personal bank statement, and my husbands explanation/his extension letter? They have not recommended a joint sponsor or anything additional in that regard.

I have worked for the same place for the last 7 years and I am employed on leave without pay during the AOS process. Any input???

From what i read, they won't accept my income because my authorization expired. We will resend everything they asked for as well as a new 864 using bank accounts and personal property to qualify. They did not seem alarmed that my h1b was expired but wanted proof that the prior work was authorized. Nevertheless, will avoid any drama and redo 864. Can someone tell me the preferred items they like for assets?

Question About the Proof of Income...

Hello All:

I'm starting a new job on tomorrow hopefully and it meets the income requirement. It is a full-time position, however it's temp-to-hire. The temp-to-hire phase is lasting three months, and then onto permanent hire. If everything goes as schedule, then the AOS interview will probably happen during the temp-to-hire stage. Would this present a problem?

Well..unsuccessful walk-in biometrics this morning. Even though they were not busy, they told Jon to come back on his appt date and time (which is unfortunately right in the middle of the work day/week for me).

To anyone that's thinking about it, don't try to walk-in at the Aurora, Colorado USCIS application center.
