My fiancee has sent packet 3 out (mon march 26th) to the UK embassy. He had his medical on march 22nd. so as far as i know we have done everything on our part does anybody know if we just wait for an interview date now or does he have to call and schedule one? Is there anywhere to go to find out if they've received everything yet? Thanks so much in advance, we have grown extremely impatient now!

How did you get notice of your interview? By post or is there another way to be notified as well?

i thought i would have to wait for the letter, thanks!

You can call the Dept of State in the US and they will know once it is scheduled and you might find out a day or two earlier than waiting on the post. Things to consider--they might not have even opened and noted his application forms yet. It's not done the day the mail arrives. And in your cover letter with the Readiness Form, if you gave a wedding date way out like July-August, they may hold off on your interview to accommodate those with earlier weddings since you would have plenty of time.

We didn't send in a cover letter and the interview date was about 4 weeks out. As Nich-Nick mentioned unless you had a certain interview date due to an early wedding it wont matter. Jodie actually sent in another DS form with a cover letter just in case, due to reading post here on VJ saying you needed one, but her interview letter came 1 day later.

Hopefully you have planned it out and were expecting about a 4 week(ish) wait as we were. Lucky for us our timing has worked in our favor as she will be here during my short break between my teaching spring and summer classes, for that thing we call wedding and more forms.

whew i feel much better hearing somebody else didnt either! We expected about a month and are REALLY crossing our fingers now especially since we just signed a lease in Florida for may. So from what i see people from the UK are receiving their appt letters about 10 days after packet 3 is being sent

Not sure about how it's working out time-wise for other folks, but we had our medical on the 21st, and today (the 30th) we got the letter with the interview date in it. (which is in the 2nd week of May).

I'm still waiting for noa2 but was just wondering, is the any way I can use the fact I live 20 mins from the embassy to my advantage when it comes to interview scheduling? As in, make It clear I can drop everything and be there in 30 mins if they have any cancellations etc.? I know it's a long shot, and I'm certainly not expecting any priority for this reason, but i wasn't sure when, if at all, I would be able to point this out - readiness for interview form? Or just calling up once i am given a date? Thanks for any ideas and good luck to everyone.

My package is at the London embassy now, I have not yet received a letter stating they require the next step of paperwork. Whilst I'm waiting for this can I go ahead and book my medical? As I have a case number? My police certificate will be arriving in the next few days.

Thanks

Sure, but they usually ask your LND case number when booking so call NVC for it if you don't know it yet. DO get your needed shots before you go to the medical. Shots listed in pinned thread "...from NOA2 to interview".

I have my LND number, thank you :)

I think I have them all, I think its just either Hep A or Hep B. But I shall check!

Also in terms of packet 3, did everyone just send it all off at once or send the DS230 etc first and then the cover letter once you are about to take your medical exam?

I just want to speed it up, due to get married July 21st but ideally would like to be in the states end of June.

Thanks in advance.
