UGH... Change of address issues

So, I would change my address from A to B with USCIS, but let them know that A is still my mailing address. How about things like my new SS card, drivers licence, bank account?? Which address? I would prefer to use HER PARENTS HOME address for these.

The SSA and bank stuff can be whatever address but your drivers licence should be your residential address. Example, I can't get mail to my street address so I have to have a PO Box however I can't have a PO Box as my address 'cause I don't live there. Her parents address is like my PO Box address, mailing purposes only. You can ask the DMV whether you can put a "mailing address" on your file (some will let you) so you can get mail there but your card will likely say your residential address.

For immigration purposes though make sure your address matches her address on your licence... so hopefully she's been changing her address as well.

1. I feel a little bad for your wife for you feeling this way. Your HOME should be with your loved ones.

1. It's your home country yes, but not your home... I suppose we will agree to disagree on this one. I still refer to Australia as "home" occasionally and I'm not saying I LOVE it here, but constantly rejecting life here in the US, and refusing to accept that it IS "home" now can be offensive to our loved ones who just so desperately want us to be happy. I know Tony is a lot happier now that I've settled in more, rather than constantly missing "home" (still miss the better food though ) and making him feel guilty for taking me from it.

She has never changed her mailing address while living in the States. All her correspondences go to her Parents home. Her drivers license, that she got when she was 17 has her HOME address on it.

I'm getting more confused about all of this. Don't know which address to put where now!

Lol it's fun hey! For an American it's not really important. Same with us in our respective home countries, but YOU need to keep your address up-to-date with them because you're an immigrant SO looks like your wife will have to "fix" her address to her residential address to match yours.

Also, so you're moving in with her parents in Sept/Oct and staying there for a while or moving out again? Either way you need to put the residential address stuff then go through the address change stuff later. Fun fun fun.

Oh, and your wife will be your sponsor so anytime she moves she needs to file an I-865 to change her address with USCIS, and you will file and AR-11. Isn't immigration fun
