Question about GC approval...

I applied at the end of August 2006, and I have got everything done except for the interview, which will take place on 11/09/2006.

I went on USCIS.gov to check on my case status, my I-130 shows the following msg, and my I-485's msg is basically telling me the same thing with I-130's.

"Your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was received on August 31, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates. "

Do people have their I-485 and I-130 approved prior to the interview day??

If passed the intervies, but I-485 or I-130 isn't approved, do we simply have to wait until they are approved before I can get my GC??

Correct me if I am confusing myself on the process or anything!!

Everything will happen at the same day Nov 9; I-130 will be approved, you'll be asked a few questions and officer will, based on your answers and submitted documentation, either approve, ask for more documents or deny I-485.
