Hello if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Has anyone filed for a B-2 tourist Visa while your I-130 case is pending? Is it possible?

Yes, it is possible. My wife was successful. The most important thing is to be able to document strong ties to the beneficiary's home country.

I just posted a similar question not long ago... what kinds of proofs do you need to supply? My husband is bringing his fellowship contract (showing he's employed at his university through February 2013) as well as pay stubs. Do you think that will be enough?

Applying = Likely no.

Not applying = Definite no.

OP: It might be worth adding that applying and being denied for lack of ties will have no effect on his future CR-1.

You should definitely try, i got approved a 10 year B1/2 Visa in November 2011, while I130 is pending. And no at point of entry nothing was said, only asked how long was i staying. You should definitely try, just be honest and confident.
