Proper Evidence for bona fide marriage for i-130 petion question

i need evidence for bonafide marriage for my 1-130 petition.

My wife and i lived together in the Philippines but we dont have any evidence cohabitation. we dont really have any paperwork for shared bank account or any lease. i was hoping that some phone bills and money transfers were good enough.

i also will be having 5 or so sworn letters of affidavit of relationship stating that these persons have seen us living together and attend our wedding.

also i am petitioning my wife's son, my stepson. what kind of evidences would i need to show along with the petition? i have some pictures...(how many do i need?) do i need any sworn affidavits? (how many do i need?)

i have read not to send any original documents. but i was wondering if its different with the marriage certificate, because the certificate has a stamp seal.

one last thing... do i need the sworn affidavit's notarized? i have seen some blogs that say you don't really need them notarized.

If you lived together, surely you have some evidence of co-mingling of funds? If not, they likely will ask why not. If you do not have bills in joint names, maybe you at least have bills in each of your names going to the same address?

We lived in a very rural area (no phone lines no internet) in the Philippines. we lived in her diseased grandmothers house. I used funds from my savings account. my bank statements show that i withdrew funds from my account from the Philippines. Much of the money i spent with living with my wife came from a savings account my family has in the Philippines. the electricity bill was still in the name of her grandmother. There was no other utility charged.

We did the same thing but to make it sure, we went to notary public with two of my friend and the lawyer made sworn affidavit's notarized.

Affidavit from petitioner and beneficiary verifying the marriage or relationship

Affidavit from witnesses to the relationship/marriage (parents, siblings, other relatives, close friends)

Wedding announcements, invitations

Church certificate

Wedding pictures

Joint bank account letter (when opened and balance) and recent statements

Joint credit card statement - including receipts from charges made by both of you

Evidence of joint life and cohabitation: monthly bills, insurance, assets etc.

A deed showing co-ownership of your property or a lease agreement with both of your names on the lease

Receipts of money transfer (if applicable)

Phone bills showing your conversations

Receipts of gifts sent online or otherwise

Transcripts of IM chats or Skype calls

Copies of letters and/or e-mails

Copies of holiday cards addressed to you both

Birth certificate of any child that has been born to your marriage

I'm in the process of figuring out the same thing. I'm including with my packet a photocopy of my wife's driver's license with her new married last name on it, as well as a photocopy of 2 of her credit cards that she has had changed over to her new married last name. Seemed to me like some good stuff to add in there to pad our case a little more, along with the other usual stuff. My wife's name and my name are both on our car registration so I'm including a copy of that, as well as joint bank account statements, and ten wedding pics. My name isn't on our apartment lease so I went to the barangay hall and got a community tax certificate in my name. That proves that I live at our address, and the apartment lease proves that my wife lives at our address; put two and two together and we have proof that we both live at the same address. I hope I'm not overestimating my ability to prove bona fide marriage, but those are some things that you may want to include if you wish. Just provide a copy of the marriage cert; bring the real one with you when you submit the I-130, and also bring it to the interview so they can look at it and compare if they want to. Best of luck -

HI we filed last march. we had no problem in the USEM. They accepted what we have.

My letters were not notarized. But i had bank statements and paperwork from our cars and our motorcycles and scooters. Everything purchased and registered in our names.

If you dont have paperwork with both names, start now. Open an account in a bank, put a couple thousand pesos in and add a couple thousand every 2 weeks and after 2 months its a an account that you can have a print out for to add to your evidence.

I had about 30 pictures organized from our first date in feb 2004, to a family dinner in may 2013

I had 4 letters (affidavits). 2 filipino friends, 2 american friends. None were notarized.

My husband had an RFE with his I-130 and sent 3 affidavits from family/friends, 1 from us (None of which were notarized because on the RFE statement it said "notarization is not needed, as the statement "I declare..." is good enough"). We also sent about 6-7 photos of the wedding and us together at different places around the world (London, Dover, California ect...)

We also attached a cover letter addressed "To Whom it May Concern" and gave a list of everything we put in. We added our contact information (email,phone number) and said if they had any questions or concerns to please contact us.

In the end the RFE was approved two days later. Whether or not you want to notarize is up to you. I'm not sure if that's a thing only for certain countries or not.

When we filed Aug. 14, 2013 I took about 60 pictures we printed out at a internet cafe and the lady at window 25 (2nd floor where USCIS is located) looked through them and just chose 7-8 pictures out. That is all the proof they wanted.

I don't think the US embassy is looking for a gargantuan amount of evidence or paperwork. As for your wifes son, the lady wanted a marriage certificate and his birth certificate and thats it...she didn't even want his 2x2 passport photo. Luckily, we had an extra marriage certificate.

Also remember to take an extra set of Proof of Residency documentation for his petition. I had to go outside and pay 10php a page to copy the lease agreement, globe bill and bank statement. I thought I wouldn't have to submit double, or that thye would keep them, haha..

You are stressing to much about it I think.
