Hi. I've been following these guides and reading a lot more on the forums lately. I have started filling out the paper work.

I've really appreciated all the help and information on this site :)

Thank you all so much.

Questions.

For I-864 is filling out the required information for the tax returns and income enough? Do I need to include all the printed out paper work from the taxes?

Also the sponsor is on social security will that cause an issue? She's a licensed RN, so should she put it in as retired? I'm a bit confused on that.

My husband and I haven't changed our last name and where going to leave it that way until everything with the paper work is finished. Both his passport and his Florida ID have the same last name and I didn't want to have to change that while were trying to file all of the forums.

Will that be a problem later on if they issue him a green card?

I-94 since my husband is a Canadian Citizen he is a part of the VWP correct? What should I list for that?

Are you filing for Adjustment of Status for marriage to a US citizen, or for a CR-1 Visa?

For I-864 is filling out the required information for the tax returns and income enough? Do I need to include all the printed out paper work from the taxes?

You should send with the I-864 at the very least your most recent tax return (the whole return, 1040, schedules, W2s, worksheets and schedules) or a tax transcript, which has all that information on 6 pages. You can order a transcript online from the IRS and it will come with in 10 days. It is suggested to send the most recent three years. At the interview you will most likely be asked for all three.

Also the sponsor is on social security will that cause an issue? She's a licensed RN, so should she put it in as retired?

If she is on Social Security Retirement she needs to include the award letter stating how much he is paid a month. Yes, put retired.

Who ever is doing the name change should fill out the forms in what name they want the green card to be in. After the card is printed it's a pain (and costs money) to have it changed. It is easier to change a driver's license and passport than a green card.

I-94 since my husband is a Canadian Citizen he is a part of the VWP correct? What should I list for that?

Put Canadian Citizen, no I-94 issued. They will know what you mean.

About changing the last name. Do I need to get his passport and Florida ID changed before I send out the AOS paperwork if he is wanting a different last name? Is there a deadline to when I need to change the passport and Florida ID to match the last name in the AOS papers? Or can I just wait until the green card is issued to change the other two things?

- Thank you, a bunch.

..Why would it be any different than a woman changing her name..? I know plenty of men who took their wife's last name after marriage, or both changed their last names to a combination of the two names.
