Nobody questions whether 'illegal' aliens are a large percent of our overall economy! Your numbers suggest that these people are only costing the taxpayer dollars when in reality they are representative of that segment of our society referred to as the 'working poor', people who are working hard and contributing but left in a state of poverty. If this segment of society were better protected with decent minimum wage laws and mandated health insurance coverage there would be no 'cost' to the taxpayers. Problem solved! We would pay a lot more for the goods and services they are involved in but we might all be better off as a result of living in a more just society!

Ya np once they pass the visa background check so we don't get any murders, kidnappers, rapist, drug dealers, etc and their employers abide by the US and state labor laws (which we know they won't seeing how they fail to pay min wage, taxes, employee insurance, etc.. now), and then all the little fairy elves can distribute jewels and precious metals to everyone in the world.

Do you know why this country has labor and immigration laws? Do you know why this country has laws period? Not all laws are good, but I would say most are, especially in regards to labor. These people knowingly and willingly broke the laws of this country when they illegally entered it. Their lucky we don't do like some countries and shoot them on the spot to send a message to the rest of em.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

What is it exactly that has you so hot and bothered over this? Your post makes it sound like you don't like the idea of brown people reproducing! Contrary to your statements, the illegals don't get 'welfare' checks from the government. Yes, they can get health-care in emergency rooms (would you really be in favor of turning them and their children away?!!) and their children can go to public schools. If they were sent home whoever got hired to take their places would almost certainly also be getting medicaid and public school benefits. As for free government provided "big TVs and cloths" that one is ridiculous! And smooching with the government!

My personal preference would be to really crack down on employers! If their were no jobs for illegals they would be motivated to go home! The replacement labor force would cost the employers more and some jobs would go south across the border as a result. Most jobs would probably stay and we would pay more for meat, produce, restaurant meals, hotel stays, construction of new homes, gardening, etc. But it would be a more honest system and possibly would help secure the borders against other threats.

Yes they do also get wic and healthy free medical paid for and free of charge of all the tax payers at work. Do illegals pay tax no they are paid under the table and have stolen soc numbers.

We do have a lot of illegals here in MA. Even out in suburbia. I personally don't know any that are on welfare or collecting food stamps as I wasn't aware that was possible. I know that pregnant women and children get more leeway than other illegals where healthcare is concerned.

Many are working for employers that should obviously know they are illegal and not authorized to work. Especially Dunkin' Donuts, Five Guys Burgers and others. Of course to get a job at these places one merely needs to provide a false ss# and since there is no E-Verify requirement they rarely get caught unless the employer gets a mismatch letter from SS. Then they quit and move on to the next place. If E-Verify became mandatory, Dunkin' Donuts would go out of business. In most cases, the employers are the real criminals. E-Verify should be mandatory, end of story. No jobs, no reason to stay. But of course we know the government really doesn't want that.

Government does not want that because business doesn't want that! Business 'owns' government!

That's exactly it. The government has sold us out big time...and that's both sides...dems and repubs.

So the Obama administration reports that the Obama administration is doing good during an election year. Whoopee.

However the underlying message is "Illegals are BAD" and we are keeping them "steady", not incresing the number which would be BAD.

So why not TAX the people that exploit them for profit until the people that exploit them for profit decide it is no longer profitable to exploit them for profit and STOP exploiting them for profit?

Seems we can come up with taxes for corporations that LEGALLY exploit foreign workers in foreign countries for profit when they import the goods made by LEGALLY exploited workers, but when the foreign workers come HERE it is OK to exploit them for profit. ILLEGALLY.
