Does the 90 day period start from the date of entry in the U.S. or when the visa is issued ? Initially we were under the impression that it had something to do with the I-797 approval letter, received from USCIS, which has an expiration date four months from the beginning date.

If you are refering to the 90 days validity that come with a K1 then it starts the day you enter the USA....

Thanks much. Yes, I was referring to the 90 days we had to be married. My fiance(e) thought it was the date on the approval letter ( I-797)which has an expiration date of 12/17/06.

Basically, when you are issued your K-1 Visa it is good for 6 months ... This means that you have 6 months to use it to enter the US ... Once you enter the US then you must get married in 90 days to fullfill the requirements of the visa ...
