I submitted for AOS for my wife on 08/052011 and received NOA on 08/182011. The case was transferred to CSC on 09/14/2011 and was last touched on 09/20/2011 when she had her biometrics. My wife entered this country on a K-1 Visa. It has been over 6 months and we have not heard anything from CSC. Please advise.

Thanks

Archie

Your wife ought to call USCIS (you can be on the phone, but they'll talk to you only if she's on the line, too). Do everything possible to get past the front-line misinformation contract workers and speak with an actual immigration officer. If your file is stuck somewhere, maybe the IO can send an e-mail to the processing floor to shake it loose.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you for your prompt response. What telephone number should I call?

Thanks again

Call 1-800-375-5283. Definitely tell them you want to be transfered to tier 2 customer service. The first person you get will just read a script to you. Since you're at 6 months, they should do a "service request" for you.

We filed in August as well and had been very concerned but we were approved today :) I contacted my congressman to get results. You should give it a try if you don't get anywhere with USCIS. Good luck!

Congratulations!!!

I am concerned about my greencard too.. I'm schedule to travel to my home country on may 18th to pick up my k2 follow to join daughter. I have my AP already, but the fact that I am travelling without a green card still bothers me. I heard from some people that it is "risky" to travel overseas without the greencard.

If you look at my timeline, my case will be on it's 6th month in the next 2 weeks or so. How does that senator/congressman thing work? How can i contact them? And would it help if i call USCIS and ask for a service request? I've spoken to a USCIS rep just once in my life, and it wasn't helpful at all. She just basically read everything that I can see on my end everytime i check my case status online.

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS (K1) with EAD

Hi don't be worried. My wife got her EAD/Parole and she went to the Philippines to pick up her son (k2 follow up). She is back in USA with no problem. Now waiting for the green card.
