And, btw, I agree.....guns, being inanimate objects, are quite stupid.....as a matter of fact, they are capable only of producing a result based upon the actions and intents of the user. A tool like any other. Taking this back to the OP, the criminal was shot in a neighborhood that wasn't his own. However, he attacked a member of the neighborhood. If he wouldn't have done so, don't you think he would've survived the encounter?

I'm not advocating you go where you please and attack people. I'm saying you should be able to exercise your right to defend yourself no matter where you are. Avoiding locations is not a defense. It's suppression of your liberties.

It also depends on what you have to live for. If it's just you and you have no career, no family, nothing meaningful to stay alive and/or healthy for.. then yeah. Go take a stroll through the hood at night and stare down all the homeboys. It's your right. And when they start something, you finish it (hopefully).

But if you got something to live for, then... well... the calculus just got more complicated. It's not just about you and your liberty anymore.

Doesn't it suck to know that there's plenty of area's that you wouldn't be safe to visit because it's over run by a bunch of low lifes who wouldn't think twice about killing and then robbing you right before they raped and murdered your wife if she was with you.
