I don't have any paranoia. And no need to compensate. Hence, I don't carry a stupid gun. How about you?

I hear what you are saying about yourself.....but what you are writing sends a different message. And, btw, I agree.....guns, being inanimate objects, are quite stupid.....as a matter of fact, they are capable only of producing a result based upon the actions and intents of the user. A tool like any other. Your constant little-league attempts at pseudo-freudian analysis (you do know that his work and theories, like the sublimination which you constantly reference, aren't taken that seriously anymore, right? Psychology has come a long way since 1906), say more about you than about anyone else. And yes, I carry a hammer sometimes, when it is needed, and a gun at other times.....different tools for different jobs.

You mean having people get off the couch and stop collecting unemployment instead of working?

Again please answer my question instead of trying to side track.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

No -- having those that have never worked get off the couch, stop collecting a welfare check/food stamps and go to work.

At least those collecting unemployment were once employed.

I thought maybe that was why you were trying to instigate a riot. At least that would get you off the couch for a while.

And I guess you post from an ipad while at work eh? I knew you couldn't honestly answer that question without putting your foot in your mouth.

I am self-employed. I am in my office at the moment.

I'm self employed also. I call in every other Sunday. It takes me less than 5 minutes.

I see. Of course you did report all that self-employment income so as not to cheat the taxpayers by collecting more than what you are entitled, didn't you.

I can't think of a proper reply to that post atm.

I stay out of places where trouble tends to await. I wouldn't pack and barge in there. That would be moronic, wouldn't it?

So instead of taking the personal responsibility necessary to exercise your own liberty and go wherever you want to go, you'll just avoid certain places because someone there won't allow you to?

Taking this back to the OP, the criminal was shot in a neighborhood that wasn't his own. However, he attacked a member of the neighborhood. If he wouldn't have done so, don't you think he would've survived the encounter?

I'm not advocating you go where you please and attack people. I'm saying you should be able to exercise your right to defend yourself no matter where you are. Avoiding locations is not a defense. It's suppression of your liberties.

It also depends on what you have to live for. If it's just you and you have no career, no family, nothing meaningful to stay alive and/or healthy for.. then yeah. Go take a stroll through the hood at night and stare down all the homeboys. It's your right. And when they start something, you finish it (hopefully).

But if you got something to live for, then... well... the calculus just got more complicated. It's not just about you and your liberty anymore.

Let's see, I don't go into gay clubs, or Starbucks, or medicinal marijuana dispensaries. It is not because I am not welcome, it is just I do not have the desire to do so. I don't feel the need to piss on every tire and hydrant, just to prove to the rest of the world that I can.

Doesn't it suck to know that there's plenty of area's that you wouldn't be safe to visit because it's over run by a bunch of low lifes who wouldn't think twice about killing and then robbing you right before they raped and murdered your wife if she was with you.
