Have you ever thought about it the other way around? May all that arming up, the fact that there are more guns than people in this country have something to do with the reality that these streets are less safe than the streets elsewhere? But hey, I'm just a pinko commie with European background that's apparently just not tough enough for this place. What do I know? Well, I do know that I am not paranoid and that I don't need to compensate.

That arguement doesn't hold water, there are many countries that have far few guns than the USA and are far more dangerous. What you fail to realize is, armed citizens are a check against thugs and their predator mentality.

Liberty and freedom has a cost that the big government, 'protect me from life's challenges' and 'I don't want to be responsible for my safety' types are not willing to pay.

Libs vote for big welfare and the people that inhabit the inner city live for those welfare gimmies. It's become a life style along with crime for a lot of those people. No big government handouts to them and they wouldn't know what to do. They would be lost.

"They would be lost," is that before or after the riots?

Is this the same old argument.....guns cause crime? This country has always had lots of guns, but criminality spiked during the 1970s.....including a dramatic rise in homicides(interestingly in the wake of the 1968 gun control act-the most comprehensive gun-control legislation in our nation's history). By the late 1990s, crime rates began to fall significantly again (Historical crime data), but the number of guns in the country were at an unprecedented high, shall-issue concealed carry laws were becoming commonplace, and public interest in "military style" weapons was driving tremendous sales of such firearms (an undeniable reaction to overreaching government interference in the market in the form of the omnibus crime act of 1992). Where is the evidence that guns drive violence in this country? All I see is a failure of our culture to control criminality, the erosion of our shared system of values, and the collapse of the American family.

You keep denying that you are paranoid (always accompanied by some sort of aside about "compensating"), but you also keep telling us you live in society plagued by criminality, neanderthals, and citizens incapable of being trusted to exercise their basic rights. Your paranoia is becoming increasingly obvious...

I don't have any paranoia. And no need to compensate. Hence, I don't carry a stupid gun. How about you?

But you did admit you avoid the inner city area's so at least you know where most of the problems lie.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Riots like this country has never seen in it's time. The LWN know this and they know exactly what would happen if the welfare were reformed along with enforcing our immigration laws.

I stay out of places where trouble tends to await. I wouldn't pack and barge in there. That would be moronic, wouldn't it?

I also avoid those parts of town hence the reason I live in a rural area. Give me budweiser and some good ol two step music and/or southern rock vs rap and gang bangers any day.

#######? You can't be that ignorant of history!

Do you have any clue as to how many millions of people now reside in this country? Now factor in every major city. Yes. Riots like this country has never ever witnessed in it's history.

Do the math and then get back to me on the reply.

I guess you really are.

Seeing how your always so incite full with your replies on here, answer me this. What do you see happening if there was a major welfare reform in this country?
