Question... the official USCIS avg for processing I-485s was 4.5 months not that long ago correct? I know it can vary and people have waited a year or so. I called in January at our 4.5 month mark, we were told CSC was working cases filed in June. So we gave it another month and called again to have them do a service request and were told we'd get a response in 15 days. NOPE. We waited ANOTHER month to call to see what was going on. They said they were working cases from DECEMBER :blink: huh?? We filed in August. Did we just get skipped? Does that happen?

They promised us a decision by April 1st, we'll see if that holds water. I contacted my congressman regardless to see if they can help like they did with our fiance visa. So we'll see what happens there.

Also... happened to notice on the USCIS website that the CSC avg for processing AOS is now 60 months :wow: is that for real? has anyone else seen or heard that?

60 months??? That has to be a mistake. Say what! Did you receive any notification stating that they were now processing your case?

The only paper response I have received was the 797 saying the got it, the BIO documentation/appt, and the one saying they transfered it to CSC for "expedited processing" (what a joke!)

The last document I got for the I-485 was the transfer notice and that was in October.

Any ideas?

I just looked at CSC and noted that they are now working on cases with January 31, 2012 priority dates. I noted, however, that they only have information regarding I-485 employment-based adjustment applications. Your application is not an employment-based adjustment application. I hope that you and my son will receive some news soon. I received a follow-up email and notice letter that stated this:

Initial Review

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

The letter that I received prior to that stated that it was transfered for faster processing. I somehow believe that the cases that they are referring to on the website corresponds with those who are adjusting outside of the USA because when I was going through my process, the information did not match what the service center stated. I was done is less than 90 days from my priority date to my interview date.

Did you receive anything that stated that you case was now being processed? I also noted that my son's latest notice had no priority date. Ask to talk to a tier 2 officer and not a tier 1 customer service representative. I really hope that they adjudicate them soon. I wanted my son to travel this Summer. :unsure:

Well you wont believe this... WE WERE APPROVED TODAY!!!! :dance:

We got the email saying that they are starting production on our green card :)

I'm telling you... I'm pretty sure the congressmen are the answer. I had contacted mine just yesterday and faxed them all of our info and they called USCIS today, and we got the email today. They helped us out with the I-129 too. I don't know if it was coincidence or they were able to push it though since I haven't talked to them since yesterday. But if you haven't contacted your congressman, I HIGHLY suggest it!

And yeah I think you're right about the employment based from out of the U.S. one being 60 months, not family based. I must have read it wrong or selected the wrong option or something.

I really hope your son get the good news soon! Thanks and good luck!!

Congrats on your approval, I saw this a week ago but have been too busy to log in, Our package was received and the check cashed now just waiting for the NOA

The 60 months is for employment related GC, quite a different path. CSC does not list 485 times for cases like ours, at least not publicly. Our petition got transferred to CSC a couple of months ago and from what I read from other posts, we just need to wait.

However, notice that EAD/AP is valid for 1 year and as I have read (might be wrong tough), it means the 485 has to be resolved before that deadline.
