Packet 3 and Medical Appointment

Hi Everyone!

We just have a short question about the medical appointment that even might be a non-issue:). We've received packet three a week ago and I had the medical today and the doctor said it will take up to a week (probably shorter) to received the papers from him. Do I need to wait for these papers to send packet three to the embassy to get an appointment?

On the checklist it just says that you should arrange to have a medical appointment, which I think sounds like once you done the medical you can send back your documents. Is this correct? Or do we need to wait for the medical papers to arrive?

I reckon that it will take more than a few days to get an interview date anyway so I guess this shouldn't be an issue, I just wanna be 100% sure.

Many thanks,

Olof

Generally, and ideally, you have the medical done and reported to EMbassy by the time of interview. If that is not the case, visa might be pending upon medical report.

It probably depends on the country though and I don't have direct experience in Sverige, but I'd go ahead and send papers to request interview, it'll be several weeks probably and chances are everything will fall in place.

Lycka till!

The best would be to ask your doctors (or who ever answers the phone) what to do. When I called to make an appointment I asked if I can send my forms back to the embassy, how much would it take to get the results, and they said the same day.

Often that is the case, but it depends on the specific Embassy. In any case, if you send your papers now, the worst that could happen IMHO is that they would sit on someones desk until your medical results come in.

Don't know about Stockholm, but in other Embassies, you can call up. There might be a number specific for K-1s that can get you to a person. I did call at least 3 times to the Warsaw one to make sure things were ok and they were always very helpful.

You can't call the visa departement at the stockholm embassy anymore, only email. But they are fast in their response.

But like I said before no need to wait, just send in the packet!
