Finally got the NOA 2 last night about 11pm. I am soo happy and I was finally able to give my fiancee some good news. She was starting to get worried and so was I. I am telling you the expected timeline give false hope and it made me call USCIS almost every day. I read on the forum about how to get to a tier 2 person after your wait time goes beyond the 5 months. I did that and I spoke to the nicest CO. She was really helpful and told me that since we have gone past the 5 months that she would put in a expedite request and that I should hear something in about 14 days. She wasn't kidding, exactly the 14th day I got the approval notice. These forums keep you sane, haha. I really enjoyed reading every bodies situations. All are different, call them it worked for me. Ask for Tier 2 and talk to someone that can make a difference.

So happy,

G

Congratulations!!! As someone else already asked, please do share the specifics of what number you called and any other details that can prove helpful. It is true that we all look at the stats and count on being one of those in the normal processing times (and perhaps even be so lucky as to be under processing times) and it gets very frustrating when that doesn't happen. Good luck to you and your bride! :) :) :)

So, you didn't wait until 6 months? When exactly did you file? I'm debating with myself if I should call them (I passed 5 months) or wait...

Sept 30, 2011

in what form did you receive the response?

I received a text message and email. Then I checked the site

Hey who is CO? Which num u called USCIS? I have been unper AP for 5 months and 3 weeks...I m nt hearing anything...what I can do?

I called the 1-800 number from the USCIS status web site. I cannot remember where I read the instruction to get connected to a tier 2 rep. I spoke to a customer service rep first. They told me that they are still processing Sept 16 applications and I should wait another 30 days. So then I asked can I be elevated to a tier 2 rep. They said sure and proceeded to transfer me. I am telling you I must have caught this nice lady a good day. She was really nice and helpful, I wish I got her name so that I can tell all of you to request her. She put me on hold and when she returned she told me that she will expedite my app because the 5 months have passed. I have not received a touch or anything. She said that I should hear something back in 14 days. I said thank you... and hung up.

I still thought I would receive a touch or something within this time frame. I still did not receive anything. So I called them on 12th day and requested a tier 2 rep and he told me that my app is getting processed and to wait 30 more days. I did not like that answer so I waited about 2 hours and called back to get a different tier 2 rep. I spoke to guy he said that I did not need to keep calling my app is currently with a officer and they must reply by the 22nd of March. Since that was only 2 days away I said thank you very much and have a good evening.

That same evening I received the text and email of our approval.
