You better add 'Chavacano' and 'Visayan' to the list. When some Berkley educated lawyer informs those speaking Chavacano and Visayan they're being discriminated against, then files a class action suit -- CA will roll over and DMV will publish the drivers handbook in both dialects.

It didn't seem to give precise reasons as to the growth rate, is it fair to assume this is due to heavy immigration alone?

I was under the impression Asians don't typically have a large number of kids.

Perhaps it's due to the tech industry and of course the snow balling effect of Chain-migration.

i know quite a few asian families with multiple children.

student & visitor visas issued to asians have always been high. a lot don't leave after school or when the visa expires. so we get a boost in the illegal immigrant numbers too.

eta: immigrants from countries like india, pakistan etc. are also asian immigrants.

BTW, Bisaya is the same sa Visayan. Visayan is just like the english word for Bisaya
