Hi VJers,

Hope you all are doing great. Looking everywhere in the VJ to see if I can find the accurate info regarding NVC, most of them are old posts. We received our NOA2 letter yesterday and now I want to know what is next?

They mentioned that our petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. I would appreciated anyone can inform me what we should be expecting now to hear/receive? And also how long does this step take?

Thank you in advance and wish you all Luck!

You will need to contact NVC now and get a new case number. Usually NVC says it takes 15 business days for them to receive ur approved case and assign a case number. Sometimes its faster and sometimes its slower. Just depends how fast the service center forwards ur file to NVC. Since u got approve yesterday, call NVC on monday and see if they received ur file. I waited a week before contacting NVC and was given the new case number. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Try calling early in the morning. I've called three times - twice in the morning (around 9am) and once in the afternoon. Both times in the morning I get connected to a person right after I pressed 1 for English. No hold, no waiting.

They can tell you when your case arrived, and when it "left." Have your USCIS receipt number ready and the petitioner and beneficiary's names and birthdays.

Then use the link that R&RM provided to guess your possible DHL tracking number.

Since your NOA2 date is one week ago, I don't think it's unreasonable to call now (one week after).

I think I remember hearing that they track how many times you call...like, one person got called out after they called multiple times in a day. But that's just speculation.

Either way, calling them or not calling them makes no difference (personally, I wouldn't be able to wait if I were you!). They should be able to tell you the dates so you can update your timeline. :)

So, my fiance called them and the guy told him that we should contact the consulate. We reviewed our NOA2 letter and noticed that it says: "The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate, please contact the consulate with any question"

hmmm, what does it mean? did they just forward it directly to the consulate or this is the template? :help:

Did you request your new case number? Even if they've already sent the case to the consulate, I'm pretty sure they can tell you the new case number.
