Oh my, I hope this doesn't happen to us as we're planning to get a new home by October - November and based on the timelines for CSC my application's approval (if everything goes well) is estimated to arrive at about that same time frame. unsure.gif

Did you file your change of address online on the USCIS website? Did you submit the AR-11 form and completed the 2nd step (I think it was supposed to be a 2-step process for my case of pending ROC)? As far as I know this should be done 10 days after you moved into the new address. You mentioned that you had someone change it during your biometrics (not sure if I understood your post correctly) -- I'm pretty #######, so if I hadn't already done so before I had the biometrics I would've gone online too and also did the necessary steps to complete the change of address as mandated by the instructions in the USCIS website, just to be sure.

It sounds like you have multiple cases where you address mismatched. Since you called USCIS and they said they've changed it and would take 30 days to be in the system you can follow up after 30 days. Make sure you have the confirmation # or something from that call. I would think at this point trying to do an online change of address would mess things up more because it could end up being a "duplicate request" (because you already called and placed a request for it -- if you get what I mean).

As for USPS did you try correcting your address online (usps.com)? I had done a change of address when I switched apartments and it was painless for me. The USPS online form requires you to specify the date when they'll start forwarding the mails to the new address.

As for your horse supplement website it's kind of odd for a website to not accept the word "Street" (must be the way they built their website). Have you tried other variations -- say "St"?

Bottomline, I'd backtrack at USPS and USCIS mainly to resolve the issue. It would probably help at least if you signed up for email/text alerts for your USCIS application so in case the address problem isn't resolved yet you'd at least know if it was approved or RFE or if card was mailed out. At least you can pester them even more at that point before it falls through the cracks. good.gif

HI Kittens,

Sorry for the delay of my answer. We are on vacation in Canada, visiting my family.

Yes I did everything. My husband received the confirmation of his address change already. Monday I am going to call back USCIS to check with them for my address change. At the biometrics, the guy asked me if the address on the computer was the good one. I said no, we just moved. He said did you change it online? I said yes, so he wrote my new address and he said if I would not have done it, the computer would not have taken it. Everything was fine. The problem is the post office won't recognize our address and something is wrong in town with our new neighbor hood. It's like our street doesn't exist?

I have someone checking my mail home but we have received just few letters and publicity.

Hope everything will be fine when we come back home. I still will check with USCIS until our return about my status and if they send me something.

Thanks for your answer!

Have a great week end everyone!

Hey guys,

I have a question, for those who already experience traveling to another country using your passport with your MAIDEN name on it since it is still valid.

Did you encounter any problem coming back to the States? Do you just have to bring and show your marriage certificate?

Since your greencard would have your married name not your maiden name anymore.

Thanks for the inputs!

HI Coco lala,

I traveled a lot back and forth to Canada and I didn't have any issue with my passport having my maiden name on it and my GC with my married name. I always carry my marriage certificate just in case with my birth certificate.

Better be safe than sorry!

Hope this help

Have a great week

Thanks for the response Jo&Si.

I'm just making sure because I don't want to make a new passport since my old one is still valid until 2014. I will be traveling back to Asia. :)

Just wondering did they look at your passport name or just put a stamp on it everytime you travel out of the country?

Hi guys,

Coco lala, sorry for my late answer. We are travelling in QC, Canada now. I am not online often. We will be returning on Monday. We drove from Texas!

So it will be my first time travelling back to US by land and with my extension letter. So I will let you know Jimnlena if I had the same problem than Lena. I hope it will be fine. I am bringing back some stuff that I still had in storage at my parents home.

About the name on the passport, I don't think they really care. Any of the officer had said anything to me about my maiden name in my passport and I renewed it last year on my maiden name.

Have a safe trip coco lala!

Have a great week end everyone!

Hi! I have traveled twice to the Philippines (once by myself and the most recent trip with my husband) with my passport still in my maiden name and didn't have any problems :) I did have to show my marriage certificate as proof of the name change (because my green card is in my married name) when I left the Philippines both times but it might depend on the country. I didn't have any problems going through U.S. Immigration and Customs though ^_^ It can't hurt to bring your marriage certificate with you when you travel. And make sure the name on your ticket / boarding pass matches the name on your passport!

I, along with some others have been waiting 10 months for VSC and now I hear with the recent immigration changes for illegals that the service centers will be inundated with an extra load and no extra staff to handle it.
