Just got home from biometrics -- went in half hour earlier but I was in and out the door in less than half an hour! kicking.gif

The long wait begins!!!

Been a while since I've been back. I didn't keep track of the older posts -- what's the "EB" note in the list of dates/applicant that we have now? cool.gif

Indomex and coco lala Thank you for your responses

I called CSC. The customer service representative could not create a service request for me since my receipt number cannot be traced back in their database

So, I was connected to those directly working on cases. She was very cold and said I fall under normal processing time! I know it is not but atleast I brought the case to their notice. I will wait for a week from now and see how it goes.

I'm in the same boat. My NOA is dated 4/13/12 and I called on 5/15/12 and was able to create a request for service. I was told to call back if I don't receive biometrics appointment letter in the next 15 days. It's been more than 15 days, so I just called them today and was transferred to the next level agent. She was rude from the beginning and told me I was put on the list for service request on 5/18/12 and there is no available date yet. She even added to tell me that it is in the normal processing time althought it might seem too long for me.

Do they expect me to wait 6months for biometrics letter??? I wonder if I can call my local asc office directly..

If someone could update our timeline plz....NOA date on letter 4/3/12, biometrics 5/30/12 in Santa Rosa, CA.

We never received a biometrics letter in the mail so I called USCIS for my husband, they wouldn't talk to me. He called and in about a week we got a letter with an appointment date of 6/19/12. He has to work that day, and it's our baby's due date so we did a walk-in together(big ole belly is pretty good proof I figured). We were done within half an hour, no problem! :) Can't wait to hear when people start getting approval letters, looks around 6 months-ish.

I'm pretty sure my local ASC is Santa Rosa too. My NOA is dated 4/13/12 and I still haven't got a letter for biometrics. Service request was created on 5/15/12. I guess Santa rosa office is just being ultra slow... :(

You can't call them directly. I waited 98 days for my appointment, try not to worry about it too much. The reason you haven't been scheduled an appointment is because your local office is busy. Did they send you an email/letter in response to your service request?

rocks during your prolonged wait for the bio appointment did you attempt to call USCIS at all or did you just sit back and wait? It seems to me that if they sent you an appointment notice and USPS fails to deliver and you end up missing your allotted appointment as a result they will just deny your application. So, after 30 days it seems almost imperative that we keep tabs on what the status is so that doesn't happen.

Calling USCIS is such a distasteful exercise I really don't want to do it though

I would call them back. If they can't find you through your receipt number then they should be able to look you up using your A#. Sounds like you got through to someone unhelpful. :bonk:

I waited 98 days for my biometrics appointment when I did ROC last year. I got approved at the same time as everyone else who had appointments much earlier. Try not to worry too much but I know the waiting is really annoying!

Do they let you speak to a Tier 2 if you simply ask to be transferred or do you need a very good reason every time?

So was I honestly. Have you called to check on it? All they could tell me (the tier 2 that is) was that I was in the biometrics "line" awaiting scheduling so I knew at least my case wasn't lost and I hadn't had my mail lost.

If you ask for a Tier 2 (an actual immigration officer) they're supposed to put you through.

I called and raised a service request a little after a month of waiting. A couple of weeks after I got a letter saying they should send me an appointment in 60 days of the letter. They sent me the appointment with about a week left of the 60 days. I was the only person that got that letter, everyone else was told to wait for 30 days. Hopefully you will get that response! You could call every couple of weeks and ask to be transferred to tier 2 and get them to check if you have been scheduled an appointment if you're worried about the letter getting lost by USPS.

rocks, coco lala and Indomex, thanks for your replies

- No service request created for me by tier 1 or 2

- My receipt number cannot be found in their database

- The tier 2 representative did not ask for my A#. She just gave me a general reply applicable to all cases "my case is in regular time period"

I will call them again next week. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

I suggest you call them back sooner and make sure you don't get off the phone until you hear something specifically about your case (something like "your bio appt is in the queue") and have a service request created if it looks like your case may have fallen through the cracks.

Yes. Call back. You don't need to speak to tier 2 to raise a service request. Tell them that you are outside normal waiting times for a biometrics appointment and you want to raise a service request. When they ask them for your receipt number, give it to them but tell them that last time you called the person couldn't find it and could they use your alien number instead.

Biometrics tomorrow! Woot! Then I can go back to waiting. Though biometrics isn't a big stress for me (or anyone) it's a date I'm slightly terrified of forgetting. Got to remember to change my alarm and go to be early (3 hour drive). Make sure I haven't forgotten the letter or my GC (I dreamt I did). No movement on the case status site (not that I expected there to be).

You're right... not a big event, but still a milestone. Drive safely!
