We sent in our packet on January 30th and my husband had his biometrics done on Feb 27th. There have been no status updates on our case, since the "initial review" on the website on January 31st. That's it. We have signed up for email updates... nothing. From what I hear, the website is the last place that one should go to for up to date information.

That really sucks. If only there was a place we could go for up-to-date information! So far can't recommend their phone support either.

With an apparently lost / stolen NOA1, I was really hoping the tracking system could be of use, because I'm horrified an RFE / interview letter might not reach me. I love USPS but they're not perfect; can't believe USCIS sends stuff by regular mail and doesn't see the value of a parallel electronic communication channel (website tracking / e-mails), just in case USPS - gasp - loses something. But what do they care if we're worried or end up deported because the mail never came?

I hear you about the USPS. When we were going through the AOS process, our interview letter never came.. in fact it was returned to USCIS stating "letter cannot be delivered". When we didn't get our letter for the interview and thought something was wrong, we asked a friend who works for immigration in San Diego to check our status and he told us what had happened. We went to our local post office and talked to the manager. It was strange since we had not moved, all our mail arrived on time and there had never been issues. Of course, the post office's manager apologized. We had to make an infopass appointment, request another date for the interview and finally two months after the fact, we went in for the interview.

It was very frustrating.

And now, I am nervous that if they request more evidence or want us to go in for an interview, the letter may not get to us again.

Its been 18days, still no NOA....i guess i am not going to get it in mail!

I called USCIS, the lady on the phone told me to wait 30 days to call...useless.

How many days after sending your packets did you guys get your bio letter?

Surprisingly, we did get the biometric letter quickly. We mailed in the packet on January 30th, got the NOA1 letter on Feb 3rd and the biometric letter came in the next day, Feb 4th. But, since then, after the biometric, no news.

Kerrin:

So sorry you still haven't received NOA1... 25 days for me and yes, USCIS also refused to talk to me about my missing NOA1 until 30 days have passed. Grr. But I did get my biometrics letter a few days ago, so fingers crossed for yours! There's still a good chance it will arrive although NOA1 went MIA.

Hedi:

Wow, that's quite a horror story with returned mail. Happy to hear everything worked out in the end! I'm considering getting a PO Box - we have a post office very near, but it would still be an inconvenience to pick up mail daily + more money ($94 for 12 months), only to avoid trouble with USCIS... Not sure if it's worth it.

So here is a kick in the teeth. We sent our package off on 4/13 and waited,,,,,,nothing,,,,,got a letter saying the package was rejected because my wife and I signed our form with our legal signature. Looks like they want us to spell out our full middle names. So the letter said that all the attached documents were rejected. We got only the letter which said to return with the package "properly signed" and the rejection letter. I recoppied the package, wrote another check, "properly signed" the documents and attached the rejection letter. All that and sent it off again the same day.

Well, the next day I got the "attached" documents/check I originally sent. That package said to send it back as well. So now here we are waiting for them to decide if they are going to accept the new package or send it back as well. They recieved the package on 4/30 and the check has still not been cashed. I assume that the second package will be returned as well so that I can send all of it together at the same time.

This has been a real pain in the #$%..

There has been nothing about this process that has been smooth where our government is involved. From the K1 up to now. It is a good thing we will not have to go through this again for another 10 years.... I hope.

Ummm nope... they don't need your full name.. (mine certainly isn't let alone my husbands which is practically illegible) what exactly did the RFE say? I get the feeling you have improperly replied.

I have never signed my middle name.. Not even my full last name. It's just the first letter of my first name, a bunch of scribbles, and the first letter of my last name. Hubby signs his first, middle initial, and last name., but barely legible..

Are you sure you didn't mix up the location where you each need to sign instead? The alien signs first, then the USC spouse underneath it.

The more I think about it, the more I suspect "properly signed" means the location on the form where each of you signed. Can you tell us who signed where on the rejected package?

Oh and good luck !!!

Hi Every one,

I am an April filer. I am already on the list of April 2012 filers.

I mailed my ROC packet on the 16th of April,

Packet delivered on the 18th April,

NOA 1 dated 19th April,

Noa received on the 23rd April.

I am awaiting the Biometrics appointment letter. I am worried due to 2 reasons. I request your opinions and suggestions.

1) In my I-751 packet I had mentioned a mailing address different from my home address. I did not think my home address was not as safe and hence I gave a more secure mailing address. But the NAO that I received was sent to my home address and not to my mailing address. Hence I am worried to which address are they going to send my biometrics letter. Shoudl I call them to find out as to which address they have on file.

2) Others who had filed the same day as me have already received their biometrics letter. I will be scheduled at the Baltimore center. I am worried if I am getting delayed or this is normal and I am still within the normal range. Should I call USCIS to find out? will they tell me or will they ask me to call back after 1 month?

3) I am shifting to Penssylvania by end of June. I wish I can complete my biometrics before this. If I do shift before biometrics will I still have my biometrics in Baltimore? or will I have it in PA? when should I inform USCIS about address change? will this delay my biometrics? and my I-751 processing? both Baltimore and PA come under vermont center.

Please help me with these questions. I thank you all for your help and time

It was signed exactly where it was susposed to be signed. My wife signed on the line and I signed under as the spouce. There is only one place for signatures that I could find so I am not sure what their problem was then.
