Thanks. We need to take it to the DMV cause my hubbies drivers license expires the same day as his greencard and I can totally see them looking at that letter and trying to issue him a new license for 4/2013. I wanted to be sure before I argue with them that they need to issue it until 6/2013!!

Wow is Georgia that picky on drivers license expiration? I thought Texas was bad not letting Lena get license till she possessed green card, but after she got it they gave her regular 6 year license. :unsure:

Slightly :ot: but wanted to vent.

I'm so mad! I went to my bank today to try to see if I could get bank statements printed that would actually show both our names instead of just his.

Not only can they not do it...

When I got back to my car, someone had hit it and did not leave a note :crying::crying::crying:

And I just got it back from the shop after someone else hit it a few weeks ago!

NC does the same thing. No DL beyond GC expiration date.

We were told at the DMV office that even if they do give you a license that SAYS X amount of years, that your license automatically expires when your greencard does. So be careful! I don't know if that's how it is in your state or not, but that's what they told us here. The first time we went in they gave him 5 years -even though obviously his greencard expired in 2. But then he lost it and when we went back (in Jan!) they would only give us until June (when his card expires) and that's what they explained to us when we asked about it!

I got my DL in Texas for 6 years but when I looked at this website

So I guess we need to be very careful with this matter!

Biometrics appointment notice in the mail!! It's for 4/27 and...OF COURSE...it's same day I am supposed to get a wisdom tooth out! The biometrics office is really close to the dentist so hopefully I can get my tooth out right after biometrics...this way I will only have to take one day off and kill 2 birds with one stone! I can't believe USCIS'timing...oh well. They are moving fast so far so no complaining!

I can't believe USCIS' timing...oh well. They are moving fast so far so no complaining!

Congrats!! and #######!! Hope the wisdom tooth pull goes well! What a great day! Immigration AND the dentist... two irritating things on the one day :) Hope to get my notice sometime this week. One advantage to not working is it doesn't really matter what day they want it! Maybe i can convince a friends to come with me 'cause Tony'll probably be at work :D

Got NOA1 in the mail today!

Seems 4/27 is a popular date for biometrics so far :). Hope I don't get the same date cause I booked the TOEFL test for that day and I'm not sure if they would let me reschedule/give me a refund :(

I would think since you got the NOA1 today, if they are on the same schedule as me they won't send you an appointment notice for another week. And the appointment needs to be at least two weeks out to give you time...so I would say your TOEFL is safe and you should be going for biometrics the first week of May or so :)
