Hello everybody

I got student visa to study in USA and now I am in TX if I want to marry US citizen girl :

1- should I move with the girl out of the united state to my original country to make the marriage contract or no need for that?

2- what is the waiting time to get the green card for this case ?

Thank you all

You can do either, but the easiest and quickest would be to marry in the USA, then Adjust Status to a greencard holder. It'll take a few months, during which you shouldn't leave the US. See this forum for more info: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-tourist-visas/

If you'd rather, you can travel to Jordan and get married there, then your wife petitions for a CR-1 spousal visa. You may have difficulty returning to the US to visit during the process.

PS: wee are all lay members here, sometimes it takes a few hours/ a day to get replies

Is she your girlfriend or are you marrying her for a greencard? I asked because you called her "a US citizen girl" instead of something like "my US citizen girlfriend". Just know that if you are marrying her for a green-card, you might not get the green-card.

You can go with any of those two options. I would recommend to get married in USA to make process much quicker. Otherwise if you get married in your home country then will have trouble coming back to USA until your green card process is not completed. I am a USA citizen and got married to my wife in my home country, she has to wait for approximately 6 to 9 months to come to USA.

I am sorry you got offended by a very harmless question. There are people who marry for greencards, that is a fact. I just wanted to eliminate that possibility before really answering your question. Because if you say you are marrying for a greencard, then I, as well as any responsible VJ member will not respond to your question.

This page http://marriage.about.com/cs/marriagelicenses/a/cousin.htm

and this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage

and this page http://www.cousincouples.com/?page=states state that couples cannot marry in Texas. Even if you were to marry elsewhere, USCIS will not confer marriage immigration benefits to couples who live in a state where their marriage is illegal.
