I'm a fiancee Visa holder (now married). We´re having our AOS interview Thursday and were wondering what is going to happen there: how long it will take, what kind of questions they will ask, Will they grant the Permanent Resident Status on the spot or do we have to wait for an answer?, etc.

What was ur experience?

Thanx.

It's all depends. There is no script for AOS interview. Each interview is different. They will most likely ask questions about you, to validate how well you know each other. In bonafide marriage there is really should be no worries.

Read reviews on VJ for your local USCIS office, which will give you a better example of what can happen.

Approval is all depends on circumstances, if you have anything in order, and all documentation is fine, you can get approval right on the spot. Sometimes they will tell that they need sometime before making a decision.

Don't worry, as long as you are in the bonafide relationship you will be just fine.

Sometimes they'll approve then and there but you need to wait for the card of course.

More often these days though they tell you your case is under review and you will hear about the decision and most get the approval update online either that night or in the next couple of days.

Mine was just today, it was extremely easy at the Southern Cali office.

Our interview time was 8:50am but did not get called in until around 9:10. Officer asked if my wife speaks English (very little) and he said that's ok he won't ask many questions. Most of the 10 min interview was just reviewing paperworks, i submitted the i-693 which i did not include along with the AOS packet. he asked for passports, marriage cert, photos to make copies. asked if we have anything joint (i provided bank account). he asked my wife 2 questions...her dob and the street address we live on. also if she was or has been a member of the communist party. he made copies of some stuff and said we're approved.

our background--k-1 visa from vietnam, we have a son that was born in VN and has CRBA/US passport. the relationship is almost 6 years and on-going. the AOS interview and really the whole visa process seems like just a formality. our relationship and marriage is airtight and very legit.
