"I feel very strongly about that," Obama said. "This is a nation of believers. This is a nation of believers, and I’m one of them, and we may not agree on every single aspect of our faith, but what we can agree to is that faith is important in our lives and it shapes our values, and we should be respectful of each other’s faiths."

But it is perfectly reasonable to find plenty to 'whine' about relative to our current state of affairs with the unlimited corporate money that these corporate 'persons' are allowed to pour into our electoral system. quick review here: obama takes the time to call & console a woman that was proped up by pelosi & co. to deliver a very slanted (thats code for BULLSHIT) testimony before a house committee due to misogynistic statements by a radio show host.

a campaign doner/tv show host makes misogynnistic comments about a woman associated with the republican party & we hear crickets from the president & the rest of the democrats.

that does not equate that the president OWES anyone a call, but i sure does illustrate a double standard.

This is hilarious. You are calling M/s Fluke's testimony "slanted" and mocking it as "BS" yet you have your blinders on on the obviously slanted testimony provided by the GOP witnesses? There's a word for this. Disingenousness. M/s Fluke was providing testimony in support of the Obama administration directive. BTW....there's no moral equivalence in the comparisons made between Maher & Limbaugh. It's just a tu quoque trick being employed here. Maher is and has always been a comedian who happens to venture into the political sphere to provide satire. Yes...Maher still tours. He was in OKC just a couple months ago doing standup. Rush Limbaugh is the single most effective puppeteer of the GOP. He drives their political agenda/narratives and writes their scripts. They kiss his ring and leadership never crosses him...or when they do, they are quick to ask for forgiveness within 48hrs (Remember former GOP boss Michael Steele and Phil Gingrey a couple years ago?) His job primarily is to bark conservative dogma and effect the GOP's political platform in whatever way he can due to his significant conservative audience. Maher does not do the same for the Democratic party. He's a shock jock and provocateur (just like Ann Coulter is) who gets the thrills saying controversial things to make 'a funny.' So, those two individuals exist in two different niches, and it's quite lazy to equate them. Obama is not responsible for Maher's comments. Nor is anybody else responsible for Limbaugh's. Basically, nobody is responsible for comments made by a third party. This is America last I checked.

I think a more relevant comparison is as you imply between Maher and Coulter as 'entertainer's. The right comparison for Limbaugh would need to be someone more like Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell except that they still fall well short of having the influence on Democratic policy that Limbaugh seems to have with the GOP!
