Medical/Vaccines in Santo Domingo

My case was completed last week so I am anticipating an interview date soon. I have a question about the vaccinations at the medical.

Unfortunetely, my husband has ZERO documentation of ever receiving a vaccine, and so I am guessing Consultorios De Visa will make him get every vaccine required for him to enter the USA. Judging from the prices I saw on the website, it looks like it will be expensive.

My question is: Should he attempt getting the required vaccines somewhere else that is cheaper and then presenting the documention during his medical? If so, any suggestions on places? And lastly does anyone know which are the "required" vaccines? The list of the "must have" vaccines does not seem to be listed on the website.

The medical packet tells the different vaccines that will be need. My fiance just did his medical like a week ago, he did not have all the necessay vaccines needed, so what he did, a couple days before the medical appt he went to a clinic, got all the vaccinations and paid like $50(US). Then on the day of the medical appt he brought all the paperwork showing he got vaccinated, he said the Dr just did a physical and he paid him 110(US. This was in Jamaica though

Have fun getting the shots, don't wait till the last minute, remember associated paperwork.

I hope so the medical is so expensive I am trying to save him every penny I can. Just something else to stress about, great.

Tell me about it nd My hubby has to pay for his child as well. I wonder if the baby gets the tb shot nd results before going to the medical would they accept it? It would work out great for My hubby since his friend is a doctor

My hubby's mom is a nurse so she knows a lot of doctors that can do it. I just gotta know if it is recommended and whether or not they will accept it at the medical. As well as which ones!

I have the same exact questions and can't get an exact answer from someone in D.R. who has experience with this.

Yeah I noticed your question after I had mine but for k-1 I think vaccines are optional because you can get them here in USA. For the spousal visas it is mandatory. I am waiting for someone who has recently done this to reply and see if they took documentation from another clinic.

Steph I just called the medical center because like your hubby mine also doesn't have his vaccine records and what i was told was that the price is $350 and if he has recently had any vaccines to bring in the paperwork however he might have to get them done again because the US wants to know that he has had them for sure from the medical center. As you know you can get any paper saying you got something when you really didn't in DR (GOTTA LOVE MY COUNTRY) So to be on the safe side they will redo the vaccines. So my hubby is just going to have to pay the $350 Hope this helps !!

You mean Good Luck to those who have to pay it :rofl: my poor hubby will be officially broke by the time this is all done with and on top of the $350 he has to pay $286 for my step son

The medical exam always comes before the interview. The U.S. Embassy appoints certain accredited clinics or physicians where you may take the medical exam. Although the series of tests included in the medical exam may vary in every Consulate, there are still common denominators for them all.

Immunization

Vaccinations are also given to K1 Visa applicants. The panel physician in your clinic determines which shots you have to take. This varies with your age and vaccination history.

United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations (listed below) prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the vaccination requirements, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

Influenza

Influenza type b (Hib)

Measles

Meningococcal

Mumps

Pneumococcal

Pertussis

Polio

Rotavirus

Rubella

Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

Varicella
