She will need a Green Card to work legally in the USA. Yes on the AOS.......Congrats on the wedding :)

She cannot work until she receives an EAD (Employment Authorization Document) or a green card.

When your wife apply to adjust, she can also apply for the EAD. The EAD will probably arrive within 2-3 months. With the EAD, she can legally work. A few months after getting the EAD, she will get her green card.

The EAD is not automatic. She must apply for it. It's free if she files it when she files for AOS.

They are right you need and EAD and also apply for AP at same time, no additional cost when applying for AOS.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

This is the answer.

Plus if she has not applied for her SSN, she needs to do that too. She will need an SSN to work along with her EAD or green card. http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

This is great to know. I saw how it was possible to apply EAD right away, even prior to marriage, but there was a hefty fee for this,... if you could make some money though, could be working a few months sooner.

It is a waste of money to file the form and pay the $380 fee for it before getting married and filing for AOS. The EAD you would receive would expire when your I-94 does. Since the I-94 expires in 90 days, you would have little to most likely no time at all to work using it anyway (it takes about 60-90 days to get it). It is best to wait for AOS and file for your EAD and AP at the same time. The fees for both of them are waived then. The EAD you get when filing with AOS will be good for a year. The green card usually comes not too long after the EAD, but some people's take longer or there are cases where there is a mistake on the green card and needs to be sent back and replaced. The EAD in those cases can keep you working until you have the green card in hand.
