hola!

can someone please tell me who may serve as an interpreter at the AOS interview?

we'd like to bring a bilingual friend, but do they require someone certified or otherwise neutral to our case?

thanks,

We used an enterpretor. I do not know if you can use a friend but make damn sure he/she is not related to you or your SO. I personally think it is much better if you find a neutral party that is certified in translating as this is one hell of an important interview. Just remember that they are always suspicious and they may start asking many questions of your enterpretor. Our adjudicator did ask our enterpretor if he was related, made a copy of his DL and had him take the oath just like us. She asked him if he was also from Brasil and what were his credentials. He explained he taught Portuguese and Spanish at UNM as a professor and she promptly stopped asking any more questions.

Ours charged us 40.00 hr and our interview lasted a little over an hour and 20 mins. He did not want any more cash as I offered to pay him for the second hour.

Good luck on your interview.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .
