Green Card Holder Confused About ESTA Authorization

I've been a member here for almost 10 years but I'm so out of touch with immigration discussions that I'm reaching out in the forum in the hope that some more up-to-date folks can help me out !!

I'm looking for some clarification regarding documentation needed to travel to and from the UK as a Legal Permanent Resident and 10 year green card holder. I'm flying back to London on Wednesday and figured that I'd use my British passport to enter the UK and then the same passport PLUS my green card to re-enter the US. My UK passport doesn't expire until 2015 and my 10 year green card doesn't expire until 2018. Am I correct about this or do I need to apply for ESTA authorization to re-enter the US ? What I have read about ESTA seems to imply that this is for VWP travellers and as I'll be re-entering the US as a Permanent Resident, I don't think this applies to me.

Some prompt clarification would be greatly appreciated,

01/17/2017 - NOA Received

01/25/2017 - Attended biometrics in St. Louis

09/29/2017 - Received I-797C notice dated 09/27/17.  Interview Scheduled for November 6th @ 8am

11/06/2017 - N400 interview in St. Louis.  Approved !!:jest:

02/05/2018 - Notice of Oath Ceremony date received.  March 1st, 2018 @ 8.30am

You are right, ESTA is only for travellers entering without a visa under the VWP. So it doesn't apply to you.

CR1 Visa

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

 

Passport

06/10/24: application submitted at post office for passport book and card, paid for expedited processing and shipping

06/24/24: received email notification that passport was approved, then shipped with tracking number

06/25/24: passport received

Thanks for the speedy response. That's what I thought but after talking to my parents yesterday, they had me all confused about possibly needing to apply for ESTA authorization. I'm glad that my hunch was correct.
