That is not true. I am a nurse and I can tell you that any type of x-ray to a pregnant woman could be fatal to the baby. If they want to be sure she's pregnant they should have used ultra sound,

The FDA and the doctors at the Mayo Clinic (one of the most respected medical research and practice organizations in the US) 100% disagree with you. You might need to rethink that.

And they weren't using the xray to discover if she was pregnant or not...they were xraying her chest for TB, like all other immigrants, male and female.

Your answer is hilarious when you know that it is THE US GOVERNMENT who demands that pregnant women have a chest x-ray inspite of their condition. Which poses no problem for one single chest x-ray with adequate protection.

X-ray is not "advanced technology", it has been used since its discovery in the 19th century by a German scientist...

Thats not true. No where in the US, would any doctor allow a pregnant woman to take an xray, or even allow a pregnant woman to enter an xray area. Maybe with an xray apron, not sure about that, but Ai am at work right now i will go to the radiology dept. on my lunch break and ask about that. I hope you are not getting annoyed with me cos what i am telling you are facts.

I just checked with the radiologist here and they said they can take an chest xray of a pregnant person by covering the stomach with a protective apron. So laure&Colin were correct.
