Scheduling the Interview

Hi,

I received my NOA2 two weeks ago and was going to call today to try and get the HAV# to schedule the interview. But today, I received an email from NVC saying that the case has been forwarded to the US Interests Section in Havana (equivalent of the US embassy there) and that all further communication should be done with them directly. However, they never gave me the HAV#. I am not quite sure what my next step should be now- and would appreciate your insight!

Thanks,

Sarah

You can still call NVC so an operator can give you the HAV number. Have your USCIS case number ready. :)

Thanks! I called yesterday and got my HAV#. Now, I am trying to call the 1-866 phone number to get the PIN to schedule the interview but the line is constantly busy. Have you experienced the same? Also, do I need to wait until the Interests Section receives the application from NVC to schedule the interview? I know that NVC sent it on March 16.

Hello guys! The NVC just got my case on march 15. called them today and they told me to check next week to see if it's already been sent to havana. so, for what you have posted here it seems that after the case is forwarded to havana they assign you a HAV# and them we need to schedule the interview? Keep me posted about the interview scheduling process, please. GOOD LUCK!

Yes, I called the USINT in Havana but they said my case number is not in their system yet. I called the NVC to find out when they sent the packet to USINT and they said the 15th. So I guess I'll call by the end of this week.

Its really hard to get in touch with the US Embassy in Cuba. I dont know how many times I had to redial and redial until I finally got connected. Probably the 3 of us, will have the interview around the same time. yay!!!!!!!!! :)

Do you have your HAV# already?? If you do, then you need to wait from 7-10 business days after they send your case to the USINT in Havana to call and schedule the interview, I called twice already and lost my minutes because they said its not in their system yet. Good luck !! Hopefully we will get thru this soon!!

I think things have changed, I've follow some advices from my fellow VJ's friends and I've been calling to schedule my interview in Cuba since last week. Everytime I call they say they havent received our petition yet, and today the lady on the phone told me that I need to wait a whole MONTH before scheduling the interview . Has anyone had the same issue lately??

Interview scheduled!

I called this morning, and was able to schedule the appointment. It was strange, because the guy started taking all the information (name, address, DOB) without asking for the case number. In fact, the case number was the last thing he asked for.

The date of the interview is for June 21, 2012!!! So much earlier than I expected. I am so excited and overwhelmed with all that I have to do before then!

I hope everyone else can schedule their interviews soon!

Congrats! You more than deserve it since I see you sent your I-129f long time ago.Hope everything goes well and you two can be together soon. June is really early just a couple of months to go. my case left NVC 5 days after yours did. Hope my interview is scheduled for an early date as well. I wonder if your fiance got the package already. Are you filling out all those forms for him or does he have do it all in Cuba?

Yes- it's been a long time! I hope you get your date soon. Probably by the end of the week, you should be able to schedule it.

Since we were worried about whether or not he would get the telegram notifying him to pick up the packet, he called the Interests Section directly and scheduled an appointment to go get it. If your fiancee lives in Havana, I would suggest that she do the same. You can also print out everything from the website. It doesn't seem like it's absolutely necessary to get the Packet 3. It seems like all the information and necessary documents can be found online.

I called yesterday and I was able to schedule the interview for July 5th.We are so excited!!

Something weird happened that I want to share with you guys. My case was sent to Havana from NVC on March 21st, so I waited 9 days before I tried to schedule an interview. When I finally called yesterday I chose the option to speak to someone in English. The guy asked for my case number and said that my case was not in the system yet. He advised me to call next week. For some reason I wasnt satisfied with that, so I thought about it for 5 minutes and called again. This time I chose to speak to someone in Spanish. Bingo! She started asking for my fiancee passport number and all her info before even asking me for my case number, which was the last thing she asked for, and scheduled my interview.WOW! I dont even know what to think about that.
