I know this must come up a lot but the information I can find on it seems scattered. I'm wondering how sufficient this evidence would be for an I-129F package, and how "official" it has to be in certain cases. I'm the beneficiary so some of this is what I'll be sending to the US.

Copy of the receipt for the engagement ring

Skype call history (can this just be screenshots of the call history page on Skype's website?)

Copies of boarding passes (those that I have) and printouts of itineraries (I have them all) from my visits to the US

All photos of the both of us (spanning 2 years, but there are only maybe a dozen)

Printout of the email receipt from a hotel we stayed in over Christmas

Would this be enough? I was considering including a selection of IM logs to show evidence of ongoing relationship. We don't really email each other but we talk online pretty much every single day. Is that overkill?

Would letters from family and friends be worth including? I couldn't find example letters (if anyone can link me to some, that'd be great!), so I'm unsure what they'd look like.

The petitioner needs the copies of the boarding passes, photos of the two of you ( maybe 4 or 5), the printout of the hotel stay is good, and the skype history. You dont need letters from friends, only the letter of intent from both of you.

Sure, I'll be sending copies of the boarding passes over to her, along with my letter of intent. The photos are all digital so she can print them out. Still, what should the Skype call history look like?

Can you photocopy entry/exit stamps from both passports? (Sorry to sound like a broken record here)

If I had taken the extra 2.5 seconds to do that, I could have saved myself an RFE!!

One well-documented visit is all the proof you need.

I was considering doing that, but mentioning "RFE" just swung it for me! My most recent visit should be well-documented enough.

I feel like I've got the "proof of having met" covered, I'm just completely paranoid about failing to provide evidence that we've got a genuine relationship. I'm reconsidering the Skype history as, unfortunately, there's no Skype-to-Skype call history. There's a ton of IM logs but that feels like overkill. Agh!

Thank you for the response, though. :)

I'm in a similar situation, i'm here in the UK, and i'm getting together some evidence etc.

We've met a fair few times, so i'll be showing my passport stamps, pictures of us together, we have theme park annual passes with our names and pictures on that are dated as issued on the same day, I will also show my credit card bill to show I bought both passes.

I will show credit card statements that show I stayed in the same town for 3 months when I went to visit, I have boarding passes and itineraries, and a hotel confirmation of when I was in vegas and she has a bus ticket to show she travelled to vegas, I then have a car rental receipt from renting a car to drive back to her home town.

I think some of the things I have are overkill, and it sounds like the important stuff is what you have.

I will also just be showing screen shots of Facebook messages and e-mails etc.

Looks like we're both going from the UK, so it's good to have you around!

Do you not speak via Skype calls or do you not have calls logged?

Sounds like you have best evidence... i.e. copies of passport stamps, boarding passes, (primary evidence) a few photos together (secondary evidence). Itineraries and tickets back that up, though boarding passes prove you actually boarded the flights. Proof of ongoing relationship is required at interview stage and that is anything between the times you met and the interview. This can be in the form of receipts, evidence of communication (chat logs), birthday cards/letters etc.

Sometimes people include an updated letter of intent also.

Great to meet someone else going through the same process at the same time! :)

Credit card statements could be a good idea. I might only include the ones for my most recent visit over Christmas, so as to keep things short and to the point and have one trip very well documented as proof we've met. The only thing I was thinking of including from Facebook is the status update showing we got engaged, since the other things I have should hopefully carry enough weight by themselves, but the Facebook status includes posts from a few members of her family (which I will point out in the summary/index of documents).

Do you not speak via Skype calls or do you not have calls logged?

We speak via Skype but Skype will only give you a call history on the website for calls made to phones from Skype. Usually we Skype computer-to-computer, and Skype only keeps a record of that on one machine, but I've changed computer since then a few times, so the history isn't as complete as I'd like it to be. It's probably worth including the sizeable-enough portion that's on the one I've used most of the time. Thanks for making me rethink that.

I guess just screenshot the call history?

Thanks for the supportive feedback. :)

The interesting thing I learned recently is that the US embassy at London doesn't, at interview, require proof of a relationship, they just want the finances covered. I will, however, be taking a letter of intent with me along with anything key as evidence, plus anything I think of after the fact which doesn't make it into the I-129F package. (The London embassy has a copy of I-129F available to them, I'm told!)

I'm still debating IM logs. I'd like to have some way of just demonstrating through aggregate data how often we're talking to each other, but in doing so I don't want it to become ineffective from not showing any details. I guess specifics are best if IM logs are being included. It's potentially overkill with the primary evidence of having met, though.

I'll still be taking a bunch of evidence to the embassy. Saying that, i've been twice before to be interviewed for Artist Visas to tour with a band and the interview mainly consisted of.

"So you're a band?"

"Yes"

"What kind of music"

"Punk Rock"

"How long have you done it for"

"6 Years"

"Great, you've been approved!"

Fingers crossed it isn't much different!

If you do copy your passport or the USC passport, make sure you copy every page in colour!

The USC passport isn't being supplied with I-129F for the purposes of establishing citizenship, we're going with the birth certificate for that. For showing evidence of a visit, do you mean that every page (cover to cover) of the passport should be copied and that it should all be in colour, or that the pages you do copy (not necessarily cover to cover) should be in colour? At the moment I've got just the pages with entry stamps copied in colour. Is that enough, or is a cover-to-cover copy required?
