Hello again my fellow VJers,

Ok, I feel a lot better about the evidence I have for my interview because of all the great responses I received from my last post. Now I have another question about the day of the interview. I was looking at the US embassy's website for DR and I saw that it said that children could come on the day of the interview as well. Since our son will be a major part of our evidence, I was wondering if we should take him with us on the day of the interview? He is 2 years old, he can't keep still, and he doesn't like to listen (basically a normal 2 year old). I am kind of thinking against it because he will get bored quickly and start acting up and I from what I have seen from reading other cases this could very well be an all day thing. I think that dealing with the stress of the interview and running up and down behind him all day will be a bit too much, but I am thinking that it could help our case by having him there. I know I might seem to be obsessing over proving our case but I just want that approval badly with no problems or hang ups. I would appreciate all of your opinions about this and you are free to let me know if I am freaking out over this or not.

As long as you have the baby's BC with BOTH of your names that should suffice. Like you said this may very well take all day, and putting the baby in this environment is not recommended. If I were you, I would not bring him.

Hey Stephanie,

I have the BC and it has both of our names on it so I will take that. As I said in the initial post, I really was thinking against at the time of posting the question, but I really wanted to get other opinion because you never know. I remember when we when had to take him for the CRBA, he was fine because before the interview they put all the kids in a room with toys and he had lots of food (which we brought from home for him). This would be a different situation (no toys) but he would have had tons of food again  . Anyway, I have definitely decided not to take him long ago but I just felt like I had to ask :bonk: . Sorry if it was a dumb post .

It wasn't dumb AT ALL... You and I are in the same exact situation. My daughter will soon be 2 years old, and I was wondering the same exact question. Would it be a GOOD idea? and so far there has been some input. But it's still sketchy, because having the real thing compared to a piece of paper CAN make the difference. Will it matter to them? who knows. But I would DEFINATELY like to know!

I too am comtemplating taking my daughter. Maybe it will lighten up the heart of our future CO, and make him/her decide not to ask many questions... WHO KNOWS? Also, I heard they don't make you wait that much in line (outside), if you have a baby with you... Do you think this is true bro?

Hey Speeds you might get moved up in line but it does not guarantee you will have the actual interview right away. I work with children and 2 year olds do not stay still AT ALL. I do not recommend this, but you can take the baby if you please. I do not think it is prohibited. Check with the embassy first if you do plan on bringing the baby.

I'm just as curious as the OP was about bringing the child. They allow it, although it is quiet uncomfortable. So i'm guessing it might be better to leave the child home.
