The embassy in Moscow requires the translation of those documents: http://moscow.usembassy.gov/fiancee.html

Other than that, we already know, from one of my other threads where I got a reply from the embassy, that we can get the medical done right now. After that is done, we're pretty much just waiting on the embassy to receive the paperwork and for her to get the interview. She already has the police cert, all of my document for the affidavit of support (if needed), proof of relationship, DS-156 and DS-230 (working on DS-256K), and I think that's nearly all!

Hopefully we're looking at only about a month and a half.

Going to put a deposit on a 2 bedroom place this week, and I've got the money saved for our other upcoming expenses (plane ticket, AOS, wedding, honeymoon, etc).

I guess all of this hard work will come together really soon.

Yep I was wrong, all documents need to be translated....those in Russian just don't need to be notarized whereas any if any other langauge needs notarization of the translation.

Honeymoon is in the US only until she gets the AP or GC, correct?

Current income is key. If you have IRS verified income of $1 more than the household size income requirements, then your good to go.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

We're not sure about the wedding or honeymoon plans yet, but we're not putting a requirement for until after the GC or AP. Although, with the expenses, it may happen that way.

Congrats!!!

Hey I was just wondering, have you ever checked to see if the 134 is required for Moscow? I know you checked everything else..

Also, on the traveldocs site for Russia, it says waiting period for interview is only 3 days!

Maybe it will be quicker than a month and a half :)

Good luck!

The 134 is not required, but can be requested. I sent everything needed for it though. Also, I know that the interview time right now are up to next day scheduling; however, I'm assuming that it takes two weeks to for the NVC to receive the petition and another week for the embassy to receive that from the NVC and send the packet of instructions for the interview. So, that's about three weeks. Then, Anastasia will have to quit her job and go to see all of her family before she leaves (about another week or two), and we cannot buy a ticket until after the visa approval. So, the most reasonable flight might be a week or two after all of that. Therefore, I'm looking at about a month to a month and a half. :)))

All we have left to do (by the embassy's requirements) is get her documents translated, her DS-156k finished, and medical.

I'm about to move into a two bedroom place for us, because I'm currently sharing an apartment with a few people. So, that will be ready about the 15th of April (my birthday). Everything's going to work out.

P.S. If you are wondering, she is allowed to get the medical anytime before the interview (see one of my other posts), but we've been waiting for the petition approval.

Am I wrong about the NVC and forwarding to the embassy? Will it be quicker?
