My fiancé the USC always communicates with me in Spanish, I am starting to compile proof of ongoing relationship and just wondering if I would have to translate all emails

I've been trying to get him to write to me in English so save me the trouble, but he is not so good at writing in English. It would be much easier to keep in Spanish.

Just wondering if I would have to pay for translation of all emails and Skype chats.

05/25/2013- wedding day!! <3

Just wondering if I would have to pay for translation of all emails and Skype chats.

Personally for emails and chats do not worry about translating because when the information makes it to the Embassy of the other country they have individuals who can read in the local language. Also do not forget Spanish is America's 2nd. language.

My huband is Norwegian and I asked about translating by sending a note to the embassy and they told me not to worry at all about it. The only time a translation is necessary is for marriage licenses overseas, divorce decrees in a foreign language (non-English) or for birth certificates in a foreign language.

As I am not a expert perhaps someone else can chime in and give you a better answer if mine is not correct.

If you are capable of translating them, you should be able to do it yourself and add this: http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations at the bottom. USCIS does not require translations to be done by a certified translator. For ours, all of our emails were in Spanish and I translated them myself before submitting them (originals and translations) as evidence of our relationship. We didn't have any problems with this.

Canada does not have Spanish translators on hand at their US embassys.

I was going to say!! I don't think Canada would have Spanish translators. But that's great I don't need a certified translation. I am more than capable of translating everything myself. If I need help my fiancé will tell me in English exactly what he wrote in Spanish. Also another thought. For the i129f we sent a copy of my finances US birth certificate. It is in Spanish and English... That's fine, yes?

It should be since it has both on it - but can never be too sure if you get someone who is overly picky reviewing the case.
