I-134 question

Hello fellow VJer's

I'm in my fourth month and the VJ timeline shows that I should probably hear something from the USCIS on April 14th for my NOA2. My question is about the I-134. After I get my NOA2 and wait the few days to contact the NVC, who do I send the I-134 and supporting documents to? Do I send it to my Fiancé so that she can take to her interview? Do I send it directly to the embassy?

For those who have already done this part any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Proof of Financial Support and Affidavit of Support Forms

During the visa interview, applicants will be required to present evidence to the Consular Officer that they will not become a public charge in the U.S. You may present evidence that you are able to financially support yourself or that your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is able to provide support. The Consular Officer may request that a Form I-134, Affidavit of Support be submitted by the U.S. citizen fiancé(e).

The U.S. citizen fiancé(e) will need to submit Form I-864 to USCIS with the application for adjustment of status to that of legal permanent resident following the marriage.

Each consulate has their own procedures and guidelines for things. Questions like this would best be asked in the regional forum for whatever consulate your fiancee will interview at. If there are instructions listed on the consulate website, that could be helpful to you. A lot of consulates send out an instruction packet after they receive your case file from NVC. Some have you send back in forms, and others just have you bring everything with you to the interview. Again, best to ask in the regional specific forum.

The Armenia guidelines linked back to the general guidelines on the uscis website (though they may not be up to date with specific instructions)... Either way, you would send to your fiancee for further processing per the specific instructions he or she receives. Like JayKay says, the locals know the details of what your fiancee should do.

Armenia is the default country, and if someone does not update their timeline, that is what country shows for them. It is quite possible they really are from Armenia, but I did not want to automatically assume they were without knowing for sure. Anyway, people should always post consulate specific questions in their regional forum to get better help.

Well in my case Armenia is the country where my fiancé is from, And I thought since the US embassy was as extension of the US government in other countries that the rules and regulations would be the same, but I guess every embassy acts differently. Well thank you guys for the info I'll just wait until I'm given the instructions from the embassy.

Either way you send to your fiancee. (S)he would then bring with, or post back to consulate with other documents. There is embassy specific forum farther down (after clicking forums). Maybe get a quicker answer there.

Yep. You will still need to fill out the form and get the documents together and mail them to your fiancee, unless you are planning a trip to be there with her for the interview and can hand deliver them.
