Good morning my fellow VJers,

I have a little situation right now and I would like to know what you all think is the best thing for me to do. I am currently putting together my evidence for our interview on April 26th and I have started thinking that while I may have a lot of stuff I am not sure that I have enough. My fiance and I have been together since March 2008. We met in the Turks and Caicos Islands where we were both living at the time and we spent the majority of our relationship together there. We have a beautiful son who was born on June 15, 2009 in D.R. and he is now 2 years old. In March 2011 we decided to move to Miami but we had to go to D.R. first so that we could apply for my son's US passport (we got it) and figure out how I would file for her because I had no clue what to do (I knew nothing of VJ back then and I wish I did). Now here is where things get a little crazy. We used to take a lot of pictures, talk on the phone for hours, and we practically lived together until we officially moved in together in 2010 but I have switched phones so many times (don't have the memory cards anymore) that the first two years of our relationship are kind of lost in the wind. Most of the things that I have now starts around 2010. I have over 400 pages of Facebook chats, over 300 pages of msn chats, over 200 pictures (I have some before 2010), a few emails (she doesn't like emails), her engagement ring, and videos (don't know how they would see them). I don't have any call logs or text messages because we moved and I don't have any Western Union receipts even though I have sent her money (didn't know the receipts would be needed). I am wondering if this sounds like enough proof or does it sound like we are lacking in this area???? I would also like to know how I should go about organizing all of this stuff considering the fact that I want things to be neat and very organized? Any help with all of this would be greatly appreciated.

First, let me say good luck in your interview! Second, thanks for the add! Third, it looks like we are in the same boat as far as evidence of ongoing relationship. We have pics, msn chats(over 300 page in 2.5yr), Phone bills from cell showing calls/text over 2.5 yrs, skype call logs over last year, engagement ring/wedding band and receipt, and receipt for when I got there and rings had to be resized(I put on a couple of pounds), airline tickets, photos of gifts he sent and those I took home from each trip, we didn't and still don't email alot. I have couple of videos of us together during my visits. But I think it will be enough as what we will have. I will bring every shred of evidence I can carry on a plane. So it sounds like you are all set. Be sure to have pics of the baby!!! And of course, the baby's birth certificate would have you as parent. I'm sure other VJ members will give you(and I) some more ideas.

Good luck!

Some evidence you just cannot recover. Take everything you do have. The fact that you guys have a child together is probably the best evidence, make sure you take the baby's BC, pics etc. And make your fiance and you are on the same page when answering questions. :star:

I can't imagine you don't have enough evidence. Sounds to me like you have plenty of evidence  I am unsure what I could recommend for organization of the evidence as I am going through this process myself.

Just organize everything so it is easy to find and present if needed. Know the important answers name, DOB, address, family etc. Trust me they know real relationships from phony ones. If you interviewed people everyday the solid relationships stand out every time, you will be OK.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Looks like you have more than enough evidence. Like people said before make sure to bring your child's birth certificate. For my interview all they asked was to see my children's birth certificate. They didn't ask to see any other proof and didn't ask us any questions and that was it we were approved. But as long as you have proof for them to look at in case they do ask for it and your child's birth certificate I think you will have no problems. Good luck!! Hope everything goes well.

Thank you so much for the information I am still kind of worried because I don't have call logs or text messages nor any skype call logs but I guess I can only go with what I have. Good luck on your case as well. Keep me posted on your progress.

Hi Stephanie,

I appreciate you taking the time out to respond to my post. I will take everything that I have and hopefully it will be enough. As for our son, when we were getting his US status the CO said that it shouldn't be a problem for my fiance to get a visa because my son is now a US citizen but I wasn't sure how true that was. I am glad to know that you think that it will help. I can't wait to go to DR for the interview. I am going two days earlier so my fiance and I can go over all the questions that the could possibly ask so hopefully the interview will go smoothly and we will be more confident. We know a whole lot about each other already because we have been together for 4 years but you know when you are nervous everything is different and you might forget something. Practice makes perfect

Thank you for your response and I pray that all goes well with your case. I just wanted to make sure that there was nothing that I was forgetting or if anyone had any ideas of what I could do to prove that we have been together since March 2008. As far as organizing everything that I have, I am completely lost and I don't want to go to the embassy with a bunch of papers in folders. I want to have everything right at my fingertips.

Hey Matt,

I really just want to be as prepared as possible. This has been a really long process and I would hate to have it not work out because there was something that I missed or didn't think of. Our son is a US citizen and while going through that process the CO told us that my fiance's visa should not be problem. Thanks for the encouragement. How is everything coming along for you?

I appreciate the response bigdog. They should be able to see that our relationship is real because we have been together for 4 years, but you know that the unknown is always nerve wrecking. I will do my best to organize everything as best I can.

Wow this is really encouraging. I am glad to hear all of this. We have his Dominican BC and his US passport so I hope that seals the deal for me. I feel a little better now reading all the responses to this post. We will see how it goes. Thank you very much for the response and the well wishes.

They want proof the relationship is real. That's pretty much it. Some people have shallow information in one area, but deep in another, so just bring everything you have. In a previous relationship I applied for a K-1 for my now-ex who was pregnant with my child at the time. I was able to sit in on the interview and the fact that I acknowledged the child was mine was enough by itself to establish the relationship as genuine (we also showed that I spent 2 weeks with her during the time her doctor estimated she got pregnant, just in case).

During her AOS interview the officer saw our baby, the birth certificate and nothing else was needed. That one thing by itself goes a long long way. Everything else is icing on the cake.

As others have said, don't worry, it seems that you have more than enough.

I am glad to know all of this. Our son is two and we have all his documents (including his US passport) and my name is on his birth certificate. That you for the response and the encouragement. I pray that all goes well with the evidence that I have. Not as worried as before thanks to all of these responses. Hope that everything is going great for you in your process, but you are okay because you seem to be a veteran with this.
