Owning property in the US does not equal residency. To maintain the GC you have to be physically in the country.

As to the other issues: If you have the US citizenship you will have legal support through the US court system in regards to your kids in case you need it. I think that makes up for having to file 2 tax returns.

All done ;-)

Hello thank you all for helping me out with my dilemma (sp) I will have a property in the US. and also a bank acct. We are not going to sell the house. even if we do separate. So, technically that will be my place of residence no? would that help or will i still face problems from entering. I just do not want a US citizenship. with all taxes issues and etc. if that won't be good enough then i have no choice to get it.

Just about anyone can buy property in the US.. so no owning property doesn't equal residency. You can keep it as your address if you like but it won't stop the fact your greencard has you leaving the country and travelling back and forth.

As for tax issues... as an LPR you are legally required to file taxes on your worldwide income (plus to maintain residency you'll want to do that anyway). So unless you give up your greencard you have to file taxes anyway... so I don't really understand why you think becoming a USC will change anything in that regard.
