And by the way, I don't have a strong opinion on the Obama mandate. I do have an opinion on the way certain individuals framed the debate and reacted to the issues involved. Keep it up, I think the results come election time might be amusing B-)

The framing of the debate is where we entered into the silly season IMHO. One side saying the govt is going to deny women access to birth control all of a sudden, the other side expanding the debate to saying non-religious affiliated institutions could or should be able to deny women access to birth control if their consciences object. All the while the majority of women, probably the super majority have access and use birth control today. I just shake my head personally.

All of this is the result of the govt mandating the catholic church cover birth control for the women of their affiliated institutions. The Catholic church itself still gets the conscience objection right, but now their hospitals and the like do not. I applaud the Democrats, they did a great job politically turning an advance/reach of the govt into the affairs of the Catholic Church into a Republicans trying to take away birth control from women/war on women issue. That was an excellent political play. Santorum jacked it up when he started pontificating about how he disagrees with birth control. He misplayed his card, he should have kept it at a separation of church and state issue, kept it at govt mandating its values of health care onto the people, thereby adding wind into the sails of the movement to repeal Obamacare and energizing religious people who are increasingly being pushed out of the public square.

In the end, I think most women are smarter than falling for this political play and that most women probably have more important things to worry about, like finding a job and that most women will understand they will still get birth control.

Where did you get that idea?

Piss Christ. Debbie Does Dallas. Three Girls, One Cup. Advertisements for GoDaddy. What, pray tell does Danno-logic define as "hardcore porn" and when did something being offensive stop being art protected by free speech?

I suggest The Mentors for your listening pleasure Danno. You would go apoplectic!

Why did VHS videotapes win the battle with beta? Porn.

Somehow you are completely missing it.

Piss Christ is not porn so lets not complicate things. Debbie Does Dallas could not be made available in every community, some have restrictions of the sale of such material. , it could be banned.

Porn does not enjoy the same fist amendment protection as say "real speech".

Thats why it can be restricted.

DO you have a right to drink beer?

There are hundreds perhaps thousands of "dry areas" in the country where no alcoholic beverages are sold (I didn't say consumed). I grew up next door to one such town in NJ. Another was Ocean city NJ.

IN my city right now they have limits or where adult establishments can operate, Putting restriction or gates on Porn is not unconstitutional.

Sorry

Putting restrictions on porn, age to purchase, where and how it is sold, age restrictions on actors. Those are all things which can be and are legitimately regulated. Santorums ban on " hardcore porn" is very dangerous because one man's ""hardcore" is another man's "yawn."

Defining "hardcore" porn is where Herr Santorum threatens Constitutional free speech. Art is art Danno, you miss the threat.

Do we even know what he might be proposing?

Where I might be in favor of action is confining porn to adults who seek it, as it is now any child can access it even at the library.

Also porn comes in random spam email to people who don't want it. These sites even target easily misspelled domains.

Clearly the federal Gov't has some standing in the matter, via the interstate Commerce Clause.

It would be much more preferable for the Web bosses to tackle this problem before Government gets involved.
