Passport Photos for Interview

The letter in packet 3 requests 2x2 inch passport photos. How strict are they about the size of the photos? Will the accept any "standard" size passport photos you get at the chemist, or do they have to be exactly 2x2?

They state 2" X 2", they actually mean it. Give them what they request or expect problems.

they have to be exactly 2"x2". I had mine done in the US but I have just noticed on the way to work that there is a photograph that does them, he has a photo shop on Lower Abbey Street just beside the luas stop

there might also be a photo booth in the embassy as there is in London

I don't think I've seen one but that's been over a year since I've been there so maybe now they do but I wouldn't risk it and wait till the last day to have them done

Very strict, i remember one time i had mine done and they were the larger 2x2 size but slightly off, and wouldnt accept them. So they sent me across the street to the pharmacy there, they do them. If you go early you can get them at the pharmacy before your appointment. Or any Photo shop place will do them if you give them the correct size. There is no Booth in the Dublin embassy.

Not sure what it's like in Ireland but here in Canada when I went to get my passport photos taken at the grocery store I just said 'they need to be the size for an american passport' and they knew exactly what to do.

Yea there few places here that actually know. The pharmacy across from embassy do it spot on. And the place i done mine in last week did also, a photography shop. But i did have them done once where the clim to know and the size looked about right but where rejected by the embassy.

well there are a few measurements involved not just the size of the photo itself so that might be a reason they rejected it. If you are not sure just print the photo requirements from the embassy website and bring it with you to the photo shop however I would recommend having it done by someone who really knows what they are doing. I'm sure that pharmacy place would be best as they do it on regular basis.
