The chances of him getting a visitors visa is slim , so I would start thinking about plan B. If he does get a visa, using it with the intent of staying in the US by marriage is illegal and Nigerians are subject to an extra level of screening so if 10000 people here say they have done it, they are more apt to make an example of a Nigerian than any other nationality . You risk him being banned for life if that is your plan. You can file for a K1 ( fiance ) or a CR1 ( after you marry ) , Either take about a year

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

As said by previous folks, Nigeria is in the top 5 of most fraudulent countries when it comes to marriage and visa scams so it will be VERY difficult to get approved of a tourist/any spousal visa. If he does get a visitor's visa you guys can get married in the states but he has to go home and go through the proper appropriate immigration channels. I don't think it matters where you start the K1 petition but he has to be outside of the US while the petition is ongoing.

That said I implore you to be careful with how fast you want to get married to this guy. There is a reason why Nigeria is high on the fraud watch list. Some Nigerian spouses claim to be so in love but as soon as they step foot on American soil they start to 'change' and the next thing you know you're back on VJ asking how you can get your husband deported because they used you for a green card. This could be true love but same as how age is nothing but a number to US and their MENA spouses, love conquers all including time so take the time to date.

Good luck

There is nothing "FIANCEE HERE" on a tourist visa!

Lol. They say it's not what you say but how you say it. You come off as a bit harsh (but entertaining) but I believe it's better to hurt my feelings now with your 2 cents than have me 1 year from now thinking 'coulda, woulda, shoulda'.

Well, I appreciate your honest reply....sometimes telling it like it is doesn't go over very well....not sure why.

Bottom line: regrettably a lot of people from Nigeria have done things that has resulted in a very tarnished image (however deserved or not) that has spread quickly. As is so often true in many visa situations, the abuse of previous visa holders leaves a lasting impression on even the newest of VOs (and their supervisors already have arrived with this experience and background knowledge, which is then given to the newbies during training)...and will (and does) make it much much more difficult for those whose intentions are above board....but....it also becomes more and more difficult to sort those folks out from the mala fides ones because the stories told and documents presented are often quite similar...so other issues come into play.

that's just the way it is, whether anyone else likes it or agrees with it...one cannot undo the past with the snap of a finger or the censoring of an opinion.

Actually, I prefer to think myself as quite direct....I don't pull punches...but directness is often not welcomed.

Truth is you probably won't get a tourist visa. Do what's necessary to go to Nigeria.

I'm tired of people always responding to posts about Nigeria saying it's a high fraud consulate and that Nigerians are always posing to gain the hearts of an American so they can make it to the US. From what I've seen, there are far more people who have met/married people from other countries and are here asking advice on how to rid themselves of their spouse. You have not been to Nigeria, you have not experienced the people nor the many cultures, and you have no first hand knowledge of applying for B2 in Nigeria, yet you continue to perpetuate hate when you can and call it truth. You high five each other in your ignorance and feel it's your right to do so.

I have been to Nigeria and been around Nigerians for decades. I know how they "play" the system and expect to get to the US. Some fake interest in people in the US, some fake relationships to ride along on DV lottery, others try a slew of passports trying to get a different answer on a different day. Compared to others it seems to be a national past time.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

My comment was not directed at you, but as the expression goes "a hit dog will holler" and it only goes to show you are no better than the next for your way of thinking to say, "I know how they play the system". There are some fraudulent people in the visa process regardless of their country of origin.

goodluck on the visitors visa the chances of getting one are very slim however it has been done so if you want to try that first then go right ahead. Once that has concluded i advise you to sit back and evaluate your overall situation and figure out which visa works best for you you K1/CR1....goodluck on your decision.....

Come back in 2 weeks and let us know if he got a visa.

How many times have you visited him.
