Ok, I have been reading this site on and off for a while now and I am truly amazed at the snarky comments by some people. Seriously if you have nothing nice to say or constructive then please do not say anything at all, its not helpful and quite frankly comes across quite mean and rude. That said there are some very helpful people and comments on here and yes I do appreciate it, just a little disappointed in some comments.

However, please do not be offended by the 'straight talk' that is also on there. Immigration is an emotional thing and when people are talked to like it is, it is easily taken the wrong way.

Some of the best, most insightful members here are straight talkers

I'm used to the comments and they don't bother me, but to others they may offend. Straight talk is one thing, but some comments are neither helpful nor polite. People are coming to this site for advice and help, not ridiculous comments that offer nothing other than snide smart arsed comments. Sorry I think thats my rant over

Thank you for your rant, BethandBilly. You are completely correct. Canadian Wife is also correct - we do have a number of 'direct talking' individuals who are extremely knowledgeable and generous with their advice, but I don't think those are the ones you mean. We have a number of members who appear to find Visa Journey a modern day substitute for Peyton Place and who seem to get some sort of perverse pleasure not only out of other people's problems, but from stirring the pot to create drama and to excite fear or emotional distress. Comments such as these are at the very least inappropriate and violate the 'intent' of Visa Journey as a supportive and helpful community of individuals sharing their personal experiences while undergoing individual immigration journeys, but more often violate the Terms of Service (TOS) themselves, by which members agreed to abide when they became members. Such mean-spirited, often judgmental comments provide nothing useful to the discussion and are better left unsaid.. While we can all appreciate that this process is emotionally stressful on everyone concerned, it still doesn't give anyone the right to take their frustrations out on other members.

So, as you said,, if people have nothing constructive to add to the discussion, then please do not participate. Snarkiness is never appropriate
