Does anyone somehow know if the USCIS verify sponsor's employment?-like do they call the employers asking if the person works there and how much he gets paid etc..?My husband (sponsor) is in the process of applying for a better job but Im trying to send my AOS package as soon as I can,and I'll be using his current income, since many have advised us to do so, and that its ok to change jobs during the AOS process as long as we present proof of his new income at the interview. But if USCIS do some sort of thorough employment check he most likely wont be working at his current job.

And another thing-My husband got an employment verification letter from his boss, and that's the only proof of income he has, since his boss pays him with personal checks and he has no pay stubs. He has been working there since November last year meaning that his 2011income differs from the one for 2012..Is that enough income proof?

thank you and I hope I wasnt too confusing

He might see if he can get copies of the checks either from the employer or from the bank possibly.

Some banks can get copies of deposit items.

If the employer doesn't keep the checks, he should be able to get copies from the bank. Your sponsor can offer to pay the bank fee whatever it is to produce copies.

My guess is that a letter is not enough evidence.

A letter from employer is proof of current employment, so that is fine. He is allowed to change his job. Bring an updated form with his new job and evidence to the interview. Good luck.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Well, he needs tax returns etc to qualify for the I-864. However, either 6 months of paystubs or a letter from employer will satisfy the requirement for proof of current income. You don't need both.

He's been there since Nov 2011 about 4 months now.

the letter states the date he started(Nov 26th 2011).

last year he has changed 3 different jobs....and his income has been different for the past 3 years and for sure below the poverty limits, except for maybe the current 2012.
