I might be way behind the times on this but I have seen some older posts mentioning a stamp in the passport at POE in JFK. Are they still issuing this stamp? If so is it of any use with the new I-9 form?

Really want to start working straight away to help support my fiance

Im not sure whats th I-9 is, but if youve recently applied for a K1 visa, you cannot work until you have your EAD card. It takes around 3 months from the time you file for it with your AOS after youre married.

Even when they were issuing it they were doing it erroneously.

As a K-1 Entrant you can apply for an EAD but it won't get to you until a few days before your I-94 expires (if you apply as soon as you land). Unfortunately it will expire with your I-94!

Best you can do is get married and apply for AOS ASAP...


Must have info for bringing your Philippine wife/fiancee's child to the US

You have to fill out an I-9 to be verified to get the job. On the I-9 form the stamp on entry is not acceptable for a K-1 holder to work with. Just the EAD or green card like you mention.

If you want to look at the I-9 forms you can find them on the USCIS website.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.
