Some of those suggestions on the website are good, but some of them make me scratch my head. If I got a calendar for my one year anniversary, I wouldn't be that excited. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift, but, a calendar?

We have a long way to go, but I think I'm going to surprise Amed with tickets somewhere for a long weekend.

I wouldn't be very happy if I got a calendar either.

Maybe Marlene will design some sort of coupon than I can redeem with her :P . Hopefully she'll read this post and surprise me later. I imagine my chances for getting a coupon are greatly increased with this post :lol:

you could make a calendar with naked pictures of yourself on your computer :yes:

I gave my sister and her husband an Origami book and a stack of paper for their first anniversary. They thought it was fun.

**edit** snarf, it says that traditional gifts for 5th anniversary (ours is this month) is wood. Maybe I'll go carve something out of the tree that fell down in our yard last week :lol:

Sad to say I prolly can't get him anything. We are going to be in Oz for our anny - staying in the same hotel we did for our honeymoon - so that whole trip will prolly suffice :)

Traditional is paper:

He got me a year's subscription to my fav mag from the UK that I was missing

I got him a cute handmade origami box of flowers, from Ebay of all places!

Modern is time (or clock, can't remember):

He got me a coupon for an hour facial at a local spa

I got him a snazzy watch

Met the ole man in January 1998

Jan. 2004: K1 visa issued ~ April 2004: Got on a plane ~ Nov. 2004: GC in my mucky hands ~ Dec. 2006: Received 10 YR GC
